Before I left for Mexico I wasn't feeling well, but not sick enough to go to the Dr. When we went to Algodones I bought some antibiotic which dulled things down, but 2 months later I still wasn't right ( yes I know, may times I've heard the comment, she's just not right.)
I consulted Dr Google and we thought it was maybe Pleurisy. Anyway I got fed up of lying on the couch while Beth took long walks on the beach. So when we were Internetting in a restaurant in Mulege I left Beth working and went to the Pharmacy and asked where I could find a doctor who spoke English (Donde Medico habla Inglese?) Wow, they understood me! She told me to go to the hospital. Back to the restaurant, where is the hospital? Got directions. Went to the hospital and there was a nurse taking blood pressure and lots of people sitting waiting. Didn't know what to do, so back to the restaurant. Okay, I need to ask for a Fecha. Back to the hospital, asked Nurse for a Fecha. She directed me to a window. Paid $8.00 for my Fecha. I think it was a receipt. Had my blood pressure taken and weighed. I weighed 49.500. Wow! However that translated to 109lbs. While I was waiting to see the Doctor I people watched. There were lots of children running around. None of them had ever heard the word NO! Two of the mothers hauled big brown breasts out to feed there children who were running around with shoes and TEETH! Got in to see the Dr who spoke fluent English. Told him my troubles. He gave me a prescription, on a torn piece of paper, for cough medication and pain pills for my ribs, which I had hurt with all the coughing. The cough meds turned out to be tiny little gel caps. I was expecting a bottle, but boy, do they ever work. In fact Beth went and bought a pack of them too. If I wanted to stock up on pain meds there would be nothing to stop me. The prescription was really unnecesary, it just told the Pharmacist what to give me. I paid $12.00 for the meds, so a total for both Doctors visit and the meds was $20.00. I feel much better now, thank heavens says Beth 'cause she was fed up of me sleeping all the time.
