And you all wondered why I replaced the carpets in The Escape Capsule with wood laminate floors! I spent most of last summer just shampooing rugs. I don't mind the "leaking" if a paper towel is the solution vs. hauling out the Green Machine.

Yes, he is a cutie ... he gets SO many compliments when we're camp-hosting. Best I can tell, he's a corgi plus some other kind of smart/stubborn dog. Maybe a Sheltie, because his natural coat is long(ish) and feathery. He is AT LEAST 16. I got him 15 years ago from the shelter, and they told me he was a year old at that time. But who knows?

Despite his painful back, Bandit still leaps and sings for his supper ... and is an enthusiastic eater. But I do manage NOT to "treat" him too much so he doesn't gain any more weight. He's a keeper.

If I get him feeling really good, there may be a seismic shift in household dominance with my sweet-appearing little Lhasa, -- who is, in fact, a terrorist in a wig.

Janice - Bandit is such a cutie. Hope he does really good with is meds. What does your Lhasa look like? Ruffles, my Lhasa, is 11-1/2 and is having some problems climbing the steps into the MH and wants to go for walks BUT doesn't last very long. She's pretty cute tho.

Good luck with your little furbabies!!

My Lhasa Kiwi is 12 years old, and is as lively as a pup.

I'm not much of a dog-brusher, so I keep her clipped. Here she is in her little fleece jacket for when she goes outside.

She's adorable. Does she like her sweater?

If you notice, this fleece jacket has velcro fasteners along her back, rather than the belly. So she
is very comfortable in it. Like it? That's another question...

I got my Sassy in 1999 at the SPCA. She was one of a bunch of puppies that had been dumped. She had been adopted twice and brought back. When I got her I quickly found out she had a wetting problem - wet in her sleep. Took her to the vet and she has been on Proin ever since - 2 pills a day and no wetting. Guess the people who adopted her didn't try to find out what the problem was. She sleeps with me along with Buddy, my other rescue. When we were trying to find the correct dosage there were several nights that I was up in the middle of the night changing the bed linens. When you love them, you do what you have to do. Buddy has mild seizures that we aren't medicating, yet. He's about six now ( our best guess) and I just started him on Glucosomine for stiffness. Pretty soon, between the three of us, we'll be keeping the drugstores in business. I wouldn't trade my two rescues for anything. And, NO, they're NOT spoiled just well loved.

Awww..Karen...if we don't plan to spoil them...why do we let them worm their way into our hearts?

Hate to keep talking about my dog's bladder (but look at the topic!).

My vet said he didn't think Bandit had the usual kind of incontinence ... dribbling and wetting the bed. That has to do with the sphincter. Because Bandit will just suddenly let loose his entire bladder while standing there -- not leaking in between or wetting the bed -- he suggested it might just be senility. Bandit "forgets" he needs to go outside. I think it's more than that ... maybe a petit mal or one of those small mini-strokes that people have. Because often he'll just be looking off in the distance when his bladder just releases, all at once. And sometimes he'll just be walking across the room.

Heck, sometimes I can't remember why I came into a room; he forgets to go outside. Uh oh ....
