Huntsville Tornado pixs

Okay, I'm ready for some peace and quite! Have been home only 4 days and already had a small plane crash, minor earthquake (2.0), big time flooding, hail, and last night a tornado!!!! :o

This link doesn't show much of the damage but has some outstanding shots of the sky/clouds as the tornado formed and tracked over town. While there is extensive damage in parts of town, there were only 6 hospitalized, none with life threatening injury.

Glad no one was killed - seems like this is the season for those bad storms to start down there. Be careful!

OMG Sarah!!!! We are so glad that you are alright!!! And very happy you didn't end up sailing away!!!! That's not allowed ya know! ;)

Yesterday here in Blyth was bad enough! I've been caught on the outside edges of tornadoes and driven big truck thru parts of them before and once narrowly missed getting caught in the middle of one in Jackson TN. Heard the weather on the weather radio station on my FM radio in the truck and got the flock out of there in a big hurry. Good thing I did too because Jackson got hit very badly during that storm and the truck stop I had been parked in got nailed. Could hardly believe my eyes when I saw the reports of Jackson the next day in the papers and on the TV news. Made me sick!!!

Those pictures are amazing. If a tornado doesn't touch down, is it accompanied by strong winds beneath it?

VERY scary pics taken by those who lived through that horrid weather. Only once have I seen a tunnel cloud like that, and it was in South Carolina on my way home from FL about 5 years ago. WE pulled into the motel in Dillon where we had reservations, checked in, and then evacuated to the hallways as the storm knocked in our front doors, windows, and power. I was NOT impressed with tornadoes!

Please, everybody, be very careful to watch weather warnings, and heed instructions to take cover.

It's a weekend for me up here in the mountains, and the weather will be NOTHING like that tornadic stuff. I am very thankful that I am right where I am. Cold and snow is wonderful stuff compared to tornadic stuff and flooding rains. Please be careful wherever you are, and try to stay in touch with us all.
