This comment in particular:

"The website of Trijicon, the U.S.-based manufacturer, states: 'We believe that America is great when its people are good. This goodness has been based on biblical standards throughout our history and we will strive to follow those morals.' Which of course is clearly congruent with SHOOTING people."

Jesus did not wage war or kill innocent people. In my M.Div work, I found nothing on which to base a Biblical standard of killing.

When you are waging war on a country there are always going to be civiians in harms way. There is not way around that. It's a very sad part of war.

I'm with Chris. The fact that innocents always die in war does not make it any less horrific.

Thank you, Janice. My point in this, and then I'll shut up and get off the soapbox, is this simple belief: I do not believe that war ever has nor ever will solve anything. Therefore, I will always start with the assumption that war is unnecessary. With that assumption come my thoughts and ideas and yes, anger. And I am definitely angry that so many people on both sides of this horrible war have died for nothing.

Well Chris, I for one am glad there are people in the US who care enough for all of us to protect us. Where would the world be now if those thousands of soldiers who gave their lives in WWII hadn't given their lives to give us all freedom. You certainly wouldn't have the freedom to be able to voice your political or religious ideas.

Having uncles, brothers, in-laws and husband (now deceased) fight for our country, I totally agree with redetotry...don't want to get into religious or political comments, but this was one I simply had to reply to....No one likes war & all it brings to all, however, the very rights we have in this country are because many fought in wars so we good enjoy such freedoms...
good grief...does anyone think we would have such freedoms otherwise...Just having the right to voice an opinion as on this website, is a freedom we take for granted....I could go on & on...but I think my point is made.....

A Utopian world would be great! But that just isn't going to happen.

Freedom of speech is very important, but the choice of venues should also be considered. What does this have to do with RVing? Religious topics are a touchy area. I would prefer not to see comments like, God provides, to someone getting unemployment benefits. God is not providing, the owner of the business is getting a chunk of money taken out. And we taxpayers are providing the rest.

No topic is stupid, no topic is wrong. If you want to talk about religion or politics, go right ahead, but be prepared and expect to hear opposing views. Always remember to respect each other, no matter what their view. Refrain from using language that might be offensive.

IMHO, it has EVERYTHING to do with Rving. For many of us, RVing is our way of life. Our lives are composed of many ideas, thoughts, feelings, beliefs, experiences, and so forth. Many of us have relatives and friends who have been wounded or died in wars, my brother among them. Our feelings about those casualties are very different. However, they are all valid and worth discussing, exploring, getting angry over, etc. When I post political and religious items, I fully expect and am prepared for opposing views. In no way do I expect anyone to agree with me. What a boring world that would be!

In the meantime, I read a news article in the Washington Post yesterday that stated the arms company has agreed to discontinue their practice.
