How do you all hang things like shelves, pictures, cabinets (in the bathroom), etc, to the outside walls? I don't imagine that nails and screws are an option??

Well, if you're like me, just drill without thinking about it thoroughly, and you, too, can end up with a hole clear through to the outside.
Now I only use those 3M removeable hook things.

I cried and cried when I first did it, but now I'm on drugs and can smile about it!

I use sticky hooks for my wall clock and a couple other things like keys, etc. but for the most part I don't put stuff up on the walls, especially nothing heavy like shelves, etc. My camper is always on the go during the summer months so it would mean putting up and taking down,.... now if I were parked for a season or couple of months at least I would explore that idea.

I use those 3M mounting squares - got a bunch at a garage sale very cheap - to hang pictures. Use a lot of them so they will stay put. Have traveled all thru TX, including some serious mountains out west and they have never come loose.

I use a VERY SMALL NAIL OR SCREW and then secure the bottom of pictures with museum putty (Walmart). I actually drive with some Indian pottery on a small shefl secured with museum putty on the bottom of the vases. I came from California and we used "earthquake" or "museum" putty on EVERYTHING.

We have used the sticky velcro for hanging things and nothing has fallen yet (its been 3 years for a couple of the pictures). As far as shelving the only shelving we have put up has been on inside walls and we just used screws.

I still do it the old fashion way, I put a screw in the wall, only once did I drill through
to the other side and it was an interior wall, thats when I learned how thin the walls
are, wood paneling underneath that vinyl wallpaper and its not even as thick as
regular paneling.

With the extreme temp changes in Ohio, my velcro periodically needs to be replace. I don't put breakable up with it......

I have all kinds of lightweight pics - made the ones for the rv lightweight by changing frames, etc. I also use the 3M sticky tapes. Tried a couple other brands but they didn't hold up well - the 3M has stuff on my walls for 4 years now. Good stuff.
