Breaking news!!!! Grand Canyon

Supai Village area of the Grand Canyon and camping areas got flooded from a
weakened dam and several hundred people have been evacuated by helicopter.
Thats all I know right now, its just happening at this moment.
I don't think any of our forum sisters are up there now but I still feel for the
campers that are there and might loose everything.

100 campers are unaccounted for, 147 have been rescued

I followed your link, Ava, then did a search for a newer story and it looks like as of this morning they were down to 11 missing - still too many and I hope they get found!

todays reports look good, they haven't talked about any one missing or otherwise.
They are applauding all the rescue action and showing some pictures from the
helicopter etc. From what I understand when the dam broke, (it was an earthen
dam) the water flooded like 8 feet deep in the campground. I am hopeful that
the rescue was 100% total success.
