Herschel, I'm surprised that you didn't bring back the tail (tale -- get it?) of the terrible tragedy that occurred because of the cold in Florida while you were there.

Thank you Hershel for your trip report. It sure looks like the three of you had a wonderful time frolicking on the beach. The smile on your face says it all.

I bet Hershel can have Mitch and Vickie behaving themselves just like lil V and lil M. Just a snap of that tail and no more back talk. ;) :D

Did you see any particular RV you liked in the class B's & C's at the Tampa show. What is the one that Sarah is peeking into and Carol (?) is inside waving. I really liked the looks of that one. Oh would I loved to have been along!

They spent the most time in the Born Free, Pleasure Ways, and the Road Treks...think they liked different things in different models and makers. But those three all shared the "I am short" quality. For Carol and I, it made us happy to return to what we were driving, at least for this year  Herschel made it down the west coast of FL until Tina started getting tired and we all noticed the wind picking up. We noticed that the closer state parks didn't seem to have camping so we angled over to the Escapee's Park, Sumter Oaks RV Park south of Bushnell, and pulled in for the night....... Not too many adventures for today....

Now THIS needed a spew alert! I spit blueberry coffee all over the place just now!!

Isn't that, "Oh the Humanity" quote what the poor announcer watching the Hindenburg explode and burn up said?? Somewhere I have heard that over the years.

GREAT pictures of all your doings everyone! Sure do wish I could have been there.

...And Herschel can only be responsible for so many lost and frightened things.....He can only save some of the "Star Fish"....... or Dufuses (what exactly IS the plural of Dufus?) and OT's..........

Lori, just saw your suggestion....now I will have to wait until next time. We drove down I75 until south of Tampa and then after a while I headed over to 41 so that I could check out the tall palm trees, fancy living and BIG boats.....The road had green dots so I figured it should look pretty good. I headed over the Tamiami heading East about 4:15pm after finding that the Collier-Seminole State Park was full. I am parked at the Monument Lake Campground off 41. It is operated by the Dept of Int. I managed to get in before dark. After I parked in a pull through next to the lake I took Herschel out by himself to potty and noticed that a small conference of ranger/Host types were all walking around the edge of the water at the camp site ahead of mine. I stepped back outside without the dog and smiled as I walked towards them and asked if they could share what was so interesting in the water. They then suggested that I change my camp site and back up at least two sites. Appears that the campers that had left the site ahead of mine had thrown dog food and other scraps on the bank of the lake and a LARGE alligator was quietly sitting about a foot off the bank waiting for dark and everything to settle down so that he can come eat it. The ranger showed me where the 'gator had already tore away part of the bank to chomp on some of the goodies. The RV's only sit off the edge of the water by 15-20 feet. He suggested that I might want to be VERY careful about walking any of the dogs. I am thinking that we shine lights out the door before our midnight potties and head the other direction away from the front camp sites  But hey, I made it to the Everglades and I now have a picture of a 'gator to prove it! And I still have three dogs.....

Glad you found that out before any of your pups decided to go for a swim!
