I have to explain that Herschel couldn't post pictures for a few days here because I couldn't get my air card to work. On my way out of Ocala and with directions from out most talented GTG leader, Liz, I stopped by a Verizon store and found out that the card is still working just being finicky for a day or two . Liz in her wisdom also managed to direct me to a Verizon Store right in front of a Walmart
So after being without a connection for several days and then staying busy playing for a few days.....Here is our story...
On the last morning of the GTG Carol, Liz and I took Maggie, Roe, Herschel and Izzy for a walk through the Cracker Village. We got to look at the buildings that represent how/where early FLoridians lived in.....
Carol and Maggie check out the steps as Liz walks Roe in the back ground and Herschel swishes his tail!
Herschel made sure that Lil' V and Lil' M got out and saw some of the sights. Education and an appreciation of History is so important for young children.
Herschel, Roe and Maggie show off one of the original glass bottomed boats to the Twins.
Maggie and Carol headed back to the campground which was really nice because they found Tina's dropped glove along one of the paths. Seems Tina was trying several times to lose it....just about every time she took it off to make using certain plastic bags easier in the doggy clean up efforts. Anyway, Roe< Herschel and Remi continued to take Liz and Tina on a longer walk on the Sand Hill Trail.
Some of us had so much fun at the GTG that we couldn't stop......Carol and I camped out in driveways and Sarah camped out at Liz's so that we could all go to the Tampa RV Show on Wednesday. First Liz FED US!
And Liz used us as trial subjects for a new pie recipe....What do you think?
And hey, we were sitting at a table and we were warm so naturally we played cards. Herschel entertained the Twins until they got tired and they slept next to the table until the game was over.
On Wednesday we all climbed in Liz's car and headed off the Tampa.....The biggest's RV show I've every seen. We managed to make Sarah walk everywhere we could till we were pretty certain she had seen all the small class C's and the Class B's..... It was fun! There was a lot of climbing into and out of rigs.
Of course on the way home we were getting kind of hungry and some mention was made of where/what we should eat....and how much money any of us had left after walking through the vendor areas.....Some suggestion was made that the vending machines at the Rest Area were beginning to look very good.
On Thursday, Sarah and I headed off towards Keaton Beach. We started with a good idea that got more complicated once we got in the area since we didn't drive together and neither of us had cell service in that quiet part of FL Keaton Beach is very small fortunately, really just a fishing camp sort of area, and luckily as I was turning around and heading back up the road to maybe find cell service I saw Sarah driving towards me She had already found that both small RV parks each had space. I went with the one that had the flat site looking straight out on the water. Sarah is going to have to tell her own story regarding her Motel. It was as if she had many choices...did I mention small fishing village.... Particularly pay attention to the TV channels that were available to her. It was an interesting little motel! But no I didn't get a pic of it.

These are the pics from the public beach in town.
Today Sarah and I headed out to Hagen Cove to spend the day at the beach This part of FL is really more salt marsh than long sandy beach beach but it was very good, sunny, warm enough, and we both got some sun on our faces for sure!
Sarah and Remi sit out in the sun waiting for the day to get warmer.
This was the first time that Remi has been allowed to go off leash. He loved it. Ran after Herschel and even ran into the WATER on his own! Not deep mind you but up to his belly.
When the sun warmed up Herschel let the Dufus Twin soak up some FL sunshine as long as they promised not to throw sand around.
Later as the clouds through and the air began to chill off again. OT came out to enjoy the salt air and the Twins came back to spend some quality time with Sarah. Izzy couldn't understand why she couldn't play with them.
It was a wonderful day at the beach and the pups really had a good time. I learned that Izzy isn't ready to go off lead yet. She did come back but not before she made a wild run WAY down the beach.... three tired puppies came back to watch the evening's card game. (We've been practicing... )
We only had a few people come share our "private" beach with us in the course of the day. Towards the end of the day, we marveled at the fisherman that came to fish the shallows in his bare feet and legs....think the sun was nice but the water was still very chilly! It made a nice picture and he apparently enjoyed what he was doing. We left him there when we drove back to Keaton Beach....
Tomorrow Sarah is heading back north towards AL and I am heading south towards? I'll let you know what we decide depending upon the weather and just how slow I am getting started in the morning
