Herschel is so excited. He wasn't allowed in the cabin this evening but Liz brought a present JUST for him. He wants me to take a picture NOW but I'm just too tired...something he doesn't understand since HE didn't get to go on that walk to the river with Izzy today and HE didn't get to go sit and talk with Carol and Maggie like Remi did and HE didn't get to watch the movie Cross Creek in the cabin with us......I'm not saying that he felt left out mind you, but he feels that the petting and belly rubs the three Florida Parks Employees gave him when he went out on a walk and stopped by their digging spot..... repairing the broken water pipes on site 19....was not sufficient excitement to his day.....Sigh. Tomorrow. I promised Liz that he would come by and thank her personally for his gifts........

Let me just say first off, right up front, ‘cause it’s what you all really want to know, nobody got arrested. Yet.

This afternoon we moved our gtg into our rented cabin.


Somehow we managed to get everybody together and still enough for an official group photo. Left to right: Sarah (in back), Nan, Echo, Carolyn (sitting), Karen, Tina, Carolinagal (standing in back), Kathleen (red shirt), Liz, Karen's friend Carol


Everybody except Kelly, who tried to pull a Sparkle.


But you can’t keep a camera in front of your face forever.


And the storytelling began, and became quite animated at times.





Karen presented her flamingo wine glasses to those who didn’t already have one. Sarah turned in her old wine glass. (paper cup)

Carolyn presented everyone with a flamingo bandana with RV checklists printed on them.



Not to be outdone by Carolyn’s flamingo pajamas (see yesterday’s photos), Nan showed off her Joe Boxer underwear today.


Carolyn won the drawing for the propane fir pit thingy, generously supplied by Karen.


Eventually everyone settled down to watch the movie, Cross Creek, and some plan to go on an excursion to Cross Creek tomorrow.

I love the flamingo wine glasses! Can't wait until I am officially initiated into the club with one of those! Also, the bandana's were very nice! A great thing to have on a trip! Of course, last but for sure not least on the lists was the trusty blender!

Looks like you all are having a very nice time in spite of the weather!

I'm not going to duplicate pictures but I just want to say that these cabins at Siver River are awesome. They have a great wrap around screened in porch and a fire pit with benches around it. I'm sure you will see pix of that tomorrow night. These GTGs just keep getting better. What a great group of women! The food as terrific and the movie was very special. I recommend everyone watch Cross Creek. We are going to go there tomorrow for a tour.

I won a prize, I won a prize. How? Liz gave us bendable flamingos to put our initials on and then put those flamingos in a bowl and Carol (Karen's friend) pulled mine out of the bowl. Yippee Yippee

Best of all I have my official wine glass. I have arrived!! Thanks Karen.

The photos are great - thanks for sharing! Congrats Carolyn for winning the prize! The cabin looks terrific, what a great idea. Let's seem some photos of the rigs and sites there. Looks like everyone is having a great time despite the cold Florida weather. I'm sitting here wearing my flannel flamingo PJ's that Trudy gave me - so I'm there with you all in spirit!

Man oh man, I sure do miss you guys! Not the weather, tho, had enough of that on my last trip east! One of these days I'll get my flamingo glass.....sigh. Glad you're having fun and looks like a typical GTG...good food, lots of fun and a campfire. But has there ever been a bad one???

Sammy found a quarter on the bathroom counter and managed to work it over to the edge and down to the floor, so put that in the bail out fund, Cedar! Durn cat, always getting into something. Guess he's trying to help the sistahs!
