Just HOW cold is it now and predicted to be for your GTG? I know that as far south as TN and GA have had temps the same as here in far northern NY almost at the Canadian border!

"Just HOW cold is it now and predicted to be for your GTG?"

Lows possible to 18* with highs in the 50s. We may need lots of group hugs.

The lows are chilly for sure,...but the highs in the 50s are like fall camping here. If sunny that should be fairly comfortable. Looks like the furnaces and portable heaters will run at night. Brrrrr..... Low here is to be around 15° tonite. Been holding around 20° up until this week. That is, here in the Lake Champlain Valley,... where Soosie is is about 10 degrees colder as a rule.

I'm sure the temps won't chill the good times you will all have! :D

I'm having a thought :o . There is 1 cabin available Saturday night (#2). Having volunteered to clean them last week I know they are nice, heated, with large living & dining area with fireplace, a kitchen, etc. They rent for $110, but if we all chipped in it would only be about $10 each...(don't know if my discount would apply since I already used it at a campsite). But anyway, it would provide a warm place to gather for our potluck Sat. eve. and with two bedrooms, our drive-ins could spend the night there as well. What do you think? (No pets allowed in or around the cabins)

Ok, I made an executive decision and reserved the cabin (#2) for Saturday night. Anyone that wants to chip in to help pay may do so, but not required. The cabin sleeps a maximum of 6 people if anyone wants to spend the night there. (Twin beds in one bedroom, 2 doubles in the other, and a couch.) She said we could all gather there for the day, though. We can use it for Sunday morning breakfast buffet too.

We've had TX Flamingos haven't we? I know we've had the TN Flamingos. Are ya'll calling yourselves the FL Flamingos down there for the GTG????

RE: Dancing Around The Campfire - Don't forgot - many of today's digital cameras have a video/movie setting, which would be great entertainment for those of us stuck at home!!!

I'm in, sounds like a great idea to me. I have been in cold weather since I left home, so a nice indoor activity sounds great to me :)

Getting real excited here !! Tina, you didn't post where you were on your trip and are the roads ok? Karen, hope all is well with you all too. How far are you now? Don't remember reading when you planned to start.

Echo, I always assumed we were Flamigos, where ever we were. I was told years ago, about assuming though, so will wait others response.

Is there anywhere handy, where an attendent is on duty to pump propane, Liz? You either have to be there before they go out of a day or late in the evening when their day is done, most places. So if there happens to be a place there, where the time doesn't matter, that would be great. I want to fill propane tank before entering the park, and also before I head home.

Have a great trip everyone, but stay safe

Yes, the U-Haul place on the corner of Pine St. (US 441/301) and Silver Springs Blvd. (State Road 40) has propane during business hours. In fact I'm heading there in a few minutes to fill my tank.

YEEHAW!!!

Just made our reservations for the Florida GTG!!! :D We booked site #20 on loop SF#2, it's all good as we will be close to the bathrooms for my old worn out bladder! We are so super stoked!! Didn't know for sure if we could make it or not and didn't find out until this morning that we could. Even if it is cold down there? We are cold up here so what the heck, might as well have fun while we're being cold. Do we need to reserve spots at the campfire ring? ;)

We are so excited and looking forward to seeing everyone. OMG! We both did a little happy dance. When we leave Monday from there we will head straight for Yuma and Warm temps! Oh yeah I can handle warmer temps for sure. hehehehehehe

Yippee!!!

Great news Echo !!! The more the merrier, I'm especially pleased as I have not met you all yet, hope you have a safe trip down. You're leaving Monday? When will you be there? Don't bring anymore cold down with you okay? I have been blamed for all of this since I have been here, by even my sisters doctor. If it leaves when I leave the state, they will all really believe it

Happy Happy News !!!
Safe travels,
