JAN 2010 FL GTG

Let's get together!

I know snowbirds are heading south. Saw on some weather reports that north Florida may have some snow flurries on Thursday and Friday.

Does the weatherman not realize this is Florida and all that is suppose to stay north of the Georgia line.

We are going to need a very very large campfire. Keep turning to toast all sides evenly.

Hi All, I am just over in Homosassa for the winter and hope to come meet some sister RVers. I am just 50 miles away and since my site here is paid for I can't justify staying over, but a day trip is definitely doable. And a friend of mine wants to come too, see the park, meet other women RVers, see the museum (anyone know if it is open to public on Friday?). Will anyone be around on Friday? Are there plans for that day? We would probably arrive around 10-11 and leave late afternoon so we get home before dark.

See ya!

I'll bet you will!!! :o

Oh Mitch, Mitch, Mitch! I've had a few of those. But not from campfire dancing, nor from shadow dancing. Horses, motorcycles and stairs, yes!

Ouch!!! :( Makes me ache and hurt just looking at that x-ray!!!! :o

There is something very wrong with this scenario - I went shopping this afternoon for thermal underwear for a trip to FL!!!!! That is not a commonly stocked item here in AL and if the stores ever had any, all my size were gone except for one pair of pants. I don't even own a coat but did not go so far as to purchase one. Typically do not need one. However,it is absolutely frigid here and will be for about a week. Most uncommon. Sure hope one of you ladies knows how to build a really big campfire as I suspect we (or at least I) will need it.

I've got the fire making covered on Sat and Sun. I plan on sitting by the fire (real not virtual) with hot chocolate & buttershots. Yummy. Campfire dancers, hummm, sounds like we may be on to something. Oh wait a minute, not an original thought, Seminoles & Cherokees, etc, had it before me. Needless to say, I'm pumped.

Nan, ye shall have a breakfast casserole. Any plans for dinner on Saturday night?

Has it been decided which site will be the gathering place? I have a couple of small tables I can bring to the cause if needed.

Talked to Margie today and she might be coming up for the day from Orlando. I believe she is wanting her flamingo glass, Karen. I don't believe you were giving them when she met you in WY.

Chris, I'll miss you as I won't be around on Friday but I'm planning a trip down to Homassasa this week and thought I would check out the cg down there. If you've got your RV Women flag out I'll see you and say hey.

Hey, that's great Chris! I'll finally get to meet you! No, alas, the museum is only open on the weekend. But we have no plans for Friday (yet), except a cold movie in the evening, so we'll look forward to your visit.

We can gather at my site #10, or wherever everyone wants. The extra tables will come in handy. I'm bringing a card table too. I think Sat. night would be a good one for pot luck...what do you all think?

Terrific. I think Sat afternoon sounds like a good plan for the potluck. I'll have the tables and probably anything else we will need. I'll be just next door. Excitement is building.

Chris we look forward to meeting you. I will probably be around the camp on Friday. I am taking my fur baby for his very first camping trip and don't want to leave him as I am not sure how he will react.

I also have an aluminum folding table I always carry with me.

Now if we can get a break here with some warmer weather.

Saturday is great for potluck and then breakfast sunday morning.

I'm not known for my cooking skills and am not traveling with means of cooking, but am willing to contribute to whatever needed for meals.

Also, could not think of a good way to bring firewood but then remembered those Duraflame log things. Went by Lowe's this afternoon and got two boxes of 6 each to bring. Hopefully that will help in case Liz doesn't come up with some magic to make it a bit warmer there.

Looking forward to meeting everyone.

I am going out looking for thermal underwear, it is suppose to rain Friday and be cold every night. Brrrr. My bosses asked me yesterday if I had lost my mind going camping in such cold weather. Told them if that would help me stay warm would consider it.

I am sure this is going to be a learning experience, have never camped out when it has been this cold.

Dancing around the campfire should warm us up...and those not dancing will generate heat with all the laughing. Appreciate the wood being brought...I'm sure we'll need it all.
