Twitter

I was in the control panel and saw lots of ways to communicate (ICQ, IM, etc.) and noticed
twitter names are not included. Not many of us probably tweet, but I might if my forum
GFs were using this medium.

Just sayin'!

Good point. I wonder if that's the format of this site, not something Beth included when setting up the site. The framework of this site is older than Twitter (2006). I see at the bottom of this page that the site's framework was designed in 2000 with updates in 02,05 and 07,...a year after Twitter was born. Maybe it wasn't popular enough to include in that last update.

just rambling .... :D

(and I've corrected a typo! )

I imagine she could go into the coding and get rid of the title line of a dinosaur like ICQ and insert "twitter" instead.

no twitter for me, its too much like texting on the phone, and I have a hard enough time
with Facebook, I don't keep up on that either, its just not important to me. I keep up
here pretty much daily. I have a few other forums I check into on the weekends, dog
forums and another rv forum but thats all I have time for.
It also reminds me of some of those "shout boxes" some forums have on their front page.
I always reduce it so it doesn't get in my way. But in ten years...ya never know, I might
be addicted to tweeting cause the times do change. :D

I think the Twitter thing would be an awful like chat or texting. I think our postings here would suffer for it.

For those of us who don't twitter or keep up with it? We would miss out on a lot. I know while working at the Lodge I missed a lot of what was going on. Between the satellite connection out there that would give us grief and just being to pooped to go back down to the Lodge to get online?? Yep I was out of the loop.

I have a Live Journal page that I haven't posted on since May? Kelly also has a page there. We both pretty much have the same people as friends who we allow to read our journal entries. She usually keeps up with her's and I don't bother cause I figure why repeat in my journal what she has already said. The same friends already belong to facebook and tagged so my postings usually suffer there as I don't want to copy & paste the same stuff to each one. Now if I have something going on in "my" mind that Kelly doesn't I will post/write in LJ as there is only a few friends online that I allow access to. Tagged or Facebook I play with. Kelly says she doesn't participate here much because she and I would be posting much of the same thing. And that I keep her up to date with the goings on here.

So many sites out there for the same thing. Be like a cyber copy machine to try them all. JMHO

I think I'd have to agree with the majority so far. I don't see the need for us to have this forum and Twitter, too. I'm on Facebook and see quite a few of our Forum sisters on there, too. I'd hate to have this forum suffer if we start spilintering off. JMHO :D

I tried twitter... got rid of it. It just seemed redundant! I'm w/ the majority. We are just fine w/ what we have... although would be nice to have a chatroom, although,, most of the time no one is online @ the same time.. am I wrong?

hugs to all and

happy new year! 8-)
