Propane while sitting

Okay, this is proabably a really dumb question, but....Can i turn the furnace on in the MH while it is sitting in my driveway, NOT connected to power. I don't know that this has ever come up. My stick house has a gas furnace but when the power is out it won't run. Is same true in RV? #1DS is finally going to get those repairs/mods done this Sat. before I head south and there is an adhesive that needs temp. to be a little warmer than around the freezing mark to work.

Yes, runs off your battery. Make sure your battery or batteries have a good charge. Also depends how long your going to run it. Might think of putting a space heater in there you can plug into the house and use that.

The furnace needs some sort of power to work the blower/motor same as in your house. Like Karen said either use your batteries if they have a good charge or run a cord with an electric heater. But if you run your battery/batteries down do you have a way to charge them back up, if you don't have an outlet you can plug your rv into? Or do you have a genny and just prefer not to run it for that long but can run it just to charge your batteries back up?

Or you could post the question to another forum, like Janice and watch the testosterone run wild!

You can use it a a back up for heat in those powerless days but as been said make sure you have the battery's charged up and the genny gassed up!!
and keep you propane filled if need to just move out will be toasty warm and have hot food

Well, i have to give myself a big ol' duh - my house has electricity and I can certainly plug it in. I have outdoor outlets as well as some in the garage but thanks everyone for your input.

When I used my house electric to run the AC in my MH it tripped breakers. Would running the furnace do the same?

Probably not Lenora - the A/C uses power to run the entire motor - in the furnace, it only runs the fan, which doesn't take nearly as much!

Just have a 30 amp plug installed. Or a 50 amp if you have a Class A. We had a 30 amp installed in the garage and can pull our Class cin the driveway and run the AC, TV and lights with no problem. Well, the only problem is our stupid Code Enforcement which only allows you to be in your driveway for a total of 48 hours in any 10 day period AND only with prior approval! I 'thought' it was my driveway but it ain't!!!

Well, didn't need the heat after all. In spite of Mom saying all week"i'd really like to get this all done in one shot, please make sure you have all the tools you will need" Ds did not have all the tools needed. He did get the paneling cut to fit whichis a big help. He went to intall with construction adhesive and found that someone (uh,me) had left a tube of caulking in the gun which makes it unusable. Who knew? So, I guess, technically it could be considered my fault. Couldn't finish the new table top cover because the molding needs to be mitered and no miter saw. Couldn't put upthe valances cause drill wouldin't fit and didn't have the extender. Seriously, how old do they have to get before they actually listen when you speak? He promises to get it done before I leave. Remainder does not require power tools so he can go to the storage place to finish - at this point, I don't really care if he gets cold.
