Happy New Year

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Happy New Year

Postby OutandAbout » Thu Dec 31, 2009 9:27 am

Good morning all. Guess I'm first this AM. Not much going on here. Plan on attacking the pantry today, as it sure can use some organization.

The weather is the same here, in the 30s during the day and teens at night. The never did get around to plowing the side streets here, just concentrated on the main roads. The weather took care of that job, which is OK too. Our street is clear as are a lot of the side streets in the neighborhood. Flurries are in the forecast, as long as there is no ice all is well.

No plans for tonight. Plan to watch the ball drop, don't always make it though :D There's fresh coffee on and I put some cinnamon buns out for all. Enjoy your day and have a Happy New Year. Linda

HAPPY NEW YEAR'S EVE DAY TO US ALL!!

Lots to get caught up on here, as I have been too busy to even sit down the past few days!

First, off, however, everybody remember, at the stroke of midnight, or, if you are asleep then, then FIRST WORDS tomorrow morning should be RABBITS! It's tempting to holler HAPPY NEW YEAR first, but do the RABBITS for good luck, and then the New Year greeting!

So happy to hear that Cedar has her new 'Baby' in her driveway! That must have been a sort of scary ride home, for more than one reason! I was so hoping you could get it home this year, and you did! CONGRATS! Am now looking forward to pictures of it!

It looks as if our snow will begin this afternoon, and run well into next year, which is ok by me, but am hoping all will nice enough on Sunday for the kids to take off safely for Orlando again. Today they will drive to Mandy's house in Potsdam, hopefully in my truck if Wiley will leave me his truck in the driveway in case I had to go somewhere in an emergency. His truck has a plow on it, so I hope I can learn how to run that! I hate being here truckless. I will stay right here with Molly, as the New Year's Eve party in Potsdam will be wild and full of grown kids, and I would be only 'REAL' adult there! I hope all goes well with those plans, and that the weather will allow them to get back here for a day or so before they have to fly back.

We all had a great Christmas celebration at Mema's house, with tons of food, goodies, drinks, etc., and another party here the night after----lots of laughs and fun times. Yesterday was a day of rest and recuperation for Melissa, Goog, and I, and we played some RummiKube and went to bed early. They are still asleep! I cooked T-Bone steaks out on the shoveled out grill, but the propane was so slow and frozen it took FOREVER! They sure were good, though! (Temps have been way below zero here until last night, so everything, including the poor Kicker, has been frozen! ) After hauling the kicker out of several snow drifts (after some wilds rides through the deep snow) with my truck and a come-along, it is now stuck half-way to the pond, where my truck can't get to! This time, it just died, and Goog can't figure out why---it's the second time it happened, and he was able to jump-start it with my portable jump pack the first time. He will try again today, but he is afraid something else might be a problem with it. SOB! I miss the Kicker sitting in its shelter! The temps and the snow depth are just too much for the poor old boy, I think! I am so hoping it's not its motor that is shot.

May we all have a fun-filled last day of the first decade of the year 2000, and a safe and joyous celebration of the new year and month and decade.

Safe travels to everyone!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Guess I sneaked in here while it was still morning. We left NC and now parked in Atlanta. Going to a friends home for a few days to celebrate the New Year. Hopefully we will be awake to watch the ball come down. We did the Times Square New Years eve party about 35 years ago with our then very young son. It was mobbed, rowdy and extremely disorderly, and as the crowd moved forward, they were knocking down people. It really scared our son, so we made a circle around him, I shouted for people to get out of the way because I was vomiting (oops, time out while skyping with Karen)-THAT WORKED  and we made it out of the mob. While walking down the street, saw a guy holding on to a chain that was attached to another guy's nose ring. AAAHHHH, memories. Now, they have "pens" that hold around 2500 people and the total usually in the 400,000. Well, time to get packed and out the door. It's cold and wet here so have to get under the bed for a few winter clothes. No picture in my avatar since I haven't used Photobucket in a while and guess they are culling out. carold

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!

Not to much planned here. Only thing I HAVE to do is go renew the tags on the Blazer today. Went yesterday but I missed them. They close at 4pm and I got there at 4:05pm, bummer.

Went and got groceries last night. Even with being careful and only buying necessities we spent more than we had planned. But there was nothing in the freezer so it needed filling, even if only partially. Losing power last week I think killed the older fridge that was in here. It still ran and blew air but sure the heck wasn't cold or even cool air. Everything defrosted out and what we didn't dare cook up was tossed out. ~sigh~

Happy New Years Eve!!!!! What a time the past year has been. Big changes for Kelly and I in our lives with downsizing, moving out of a house and full timing in a sense. I have my fingers and anything else I can that this coming year will be a good one for us. Maybe this is the year that I will hit the jackpot for Powerball!!

My first pot of coffee is empty but I didn't drink it all. David stole a travel mug full on his way out the door this morning to go to work. Kicking around the idea of making up a little more? Got up early this morn. David was making a racket which woke me up, which made me realize that I needed to potty real quick! Thought really hard about going back to bed and I think I did doze off a few minutes a couple times sitting here? Nah, I guess I hadn't better. Had better get my butt dressed, out the door and go renew my tags first. Then I might take a nap! Yeah that's it, good idea!

As to the New Year it's self? It is my heartfelt wish that We all find Peace, Happiness, Love, Forgiveness, Tolerance and success in 2010.

Be safe everyone!

Love to all

I just got back from 2 days at my sister's. Along with the Christmas presents they gave me a cold. I can't remember the last time I had a cold. Have been trying to be careful since the flu scare started. She had to work today so I started home at 6:00 and now I'm ready to go back to bed. My DH did the shopping for dinner tomorrow and I'm glad I don't have to go to the store. Just hope I don't give him my cold.

Good Morning,
been up for awhile, coffee, toast, dishes, little housework and now I'm trying to get
the blinds off the kitchen windows. I did it once before and its just a little clip thingy
but danged if I can remember how I did it! That means its time for a break. Will
tackle it again in a while cause they really need cleaning.

The only time I ever partied on New Years was 2000. My idea of party is staying up and
watching the festivities on tv. Since this is another decade, I just might attempt to
stay up, at least I will be able to see the NYC ball drop, cause that will be a couple
hours ahead of me. I will definately try hard to remember to say RABBITS before
I say Happy New Year. Didn't I do that at the first of December? and see, I had good
luck this December, or was it November? I'll have to go look at old post for December 1
cause I know I posted it.

I really keep thinking its Friday, and I have to keep reminding myself its only Thursday!
 Hoping the girls will check in from Mexico sometime today and let us know if they
felt the earthquake. Some people here said they felt it but I never did.

Ok, gotta warm up a cup of coffee and check new posts. Enjoy your day and be safe.

Got head out in a few to get Kodie to speech therapy.

Thought I would pop in real quick and say Morning...on this last day of 2009 and boy did it go by fast. It seems like it was just a year or two ago the world was in a panic over Y2K and now here we are almost to 2010.

If I don't get back....you all have a SAFE NIGHT and Happy New Year.

It's still technically morning here in the PNW, albeit late morning, but I confess I just ate lunch. I ate the last of my sausage/potato/kale soup. It was good till the last spoonful! lol
It's pouring rain right now. Most of our snow is gone, thank goodness. I'd rather it rained than snowed. I did start a full virus scan on my computer at 9 and it's till scanning. :o After the long defrag yesterday and now this, I should be ok for a few weeks. Think?
My DD-SIL-2 GDs are with friends at their friend's grandparents cabin on Mt Adams in OR. Just got a call from my SIL to look up something on the internet as he was having a problem with the snowmobile he borrowed to take up there. He ended up talking to it's owner, which he should have called in the first place. ;)
I did get up to the grocery store for a couple things. Also stopped at Walgreens to check if they still carried a face cleaner I like by Dove, but they don't. I could only find it there so I guess I'm out of luck. I bought 3 containers the last time I found it.
Well, that's my story. I bought the latest Harry Potter movie and will watch it today along with some shows I recorded last night. I'm not all that interested in watching any New Years stuff on TV.
So on that cheery note, , Happy 2010! May God richly bless you and your families.

Happy New Year to ya'll. I probably won't see the new year in, haven't been able to stay awake for years. Its cold and windy here and my allergies have kicked up big time - nose running and eyes itching. I need to GET OUT OF TEXAS. I never even had allergies until I came to Texas. According to Soos, if you says RABBITS the first thing it brings good luck for the day/year.

Leaving Sunday for Florida. Maybe my allergies will settle down.
