The Video Slide show

Postby jemek » Tue Dec 29, 2009 9:30 pm

I finally heard back from one brother and one sister...so I can share it now, my other brother is never on a computer...and my SIL has already seen...she got a sneak peak...I needed someone to preview it..so I sent here my acct info so she could access it.

This is the present I made for my two brothers and sister for Christmas. Once it was completed I downloaded a high resolution version. THen used a video converter program I have. THen it was burned to a DVD, so they could play it on their TV.

Our dad passed away in 1982 from a massive heart attack. This was made in is memory.
It is almost 13 min. log.

Now for those that wanted to learn how...just click on the link to the right.
I will say that I do have the upgraded pay membership and to me it was worth it, as you can see I made a quite a few of these.

Then I downloaded the high resolution, which you can do with the paid membership. Once it was downloaded I used the video converter program that came with Windows 7 Professional. I am sure there are others out there. With that it allowed me to convert it a format so that it would play on normal DVD. Then I bought some blank DVD-R and burned it to the disc for them.

I went to the office supply and bought some DVD plastic cases and made cover for it..with a picture and dad's information and the songs used.

Then I put the poem at the the end on the back of the DVD plastic case.

If you are trying to figure out who I am...I am the oldest girl...my brother is 10 years older then me..then my sister is only 10 months younger then me, I have darker hair. Then our youngest brother is 8 years younger then me.

You will notice there are two other brothers that are is some of the family pictures. The older one is my half brother from my mom's side ( he was 2 year's older then me( he passed away in 1992) . The younger one is our second cousin (he is 5 years younger then me), who my parents adopted and he lived with us from the age of 3 to age of 13 and then went to live with his dad after our dad passed away.

Such a thoughtful and loving gift for your siblings. It's a gift that will go on and on. Great idea!

beautiful...it makes me wish I hadn't given so many of my old photographs to my brother (or rather his daughter)....but I wanted to be sure that his kids got their hands on them...I know what they meant to them....

wow, very nice. I can't believe all the neat old pictures you gathered! Thanks for sharing.
My sister took all her old super 8 silent films and had them put on a VCR tape. That tape was deteriorating the last I tried watching it and need to find someone to put it all on a CD, I guess, before it's all lost.

Wow! That gave me goosebumps! That was wonderful! Loved the poem at the end. I should do that for my mom who passed away 2 1/2 years ago. I put together two poster boards of photos for her funeral and I still have the posterboards around here somewhere. Not a good way to hang on to the photos since they keep falling off. It would be better to put them on a dvd like yours. Very cool!
