Not more CACTUS!

But even I have to admit these are a little different. These look like green roses.

How about Hen and Chickens on steroids?

Then up comes a flower stalk, on the same steroids obviously.

Finally it blooms.

No idea their real name, but I call those tall ones "asparagus cactus".

I could hardly see the cactus for the beautiful ocean view behind them .... sigh. They're gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.

The tall flowering agave plant is a Century plant, I had two in my yard when we moved here and the next door neighbor had two that just grew and bloomed. I have three in the front garden area that will grow the stalk ( and once it starts growing it grows rapidly) after it blooms it dies.

I just did a search on the century plant and it's listed as being poison. The sap can cause allot of hurt to your skin. Interesting.

Spanky, my curiosity is killing me - do you accidentally shoot level horizons, shoot them straight intentionally, or fix 'em later in PhotoShop?
I forget to think about it when shooting the picture and have to straighten it out after the fact.

Really cool pictures.

Well Mitch, some of us are more skilled than others I believe. Besides, doesn't water always find its own level?
