Kris, that is beautiful. Memories shared can be the greatest gift.

Mom, you're not s'posed ta tattle!!!! *pouts* You're gonna ruin my rep!

Kris, that sounds like such a wonderful gift!

I think my fave gifts are the "Daddy and me" dino sleeper and the monster truck outfit I got Connor. My other is the Twilight saga books for my DS in NY. I only wish I could be there when she opens the box!!

As mom said, we'll be giving each other gifts later. I have no clue what to get her. I think she's well stocked on her favorite perfume, lol. I'm really happy that we've got a new battery in the blazer, I've been stressin over that for a while. David did an oil change and some brake work that I'm grateful for.

Hope y'all have a happy holiday!

Kristy, I can WAIT to see your DVD, and learn how you made it. That is a present I will strive to make for my family members for next year's Christmas. That's a true gift from the heart, and one that each person will treasure forever. What a GREAT idea!

Kristy, that is a wonderful gift idea!!! I know everyone will just love it!!! When my brother, Brent, passed away in October, my sister-in-law had a DVD done of his life to be shown at the viewing.....It was beautiful!!! We all laughed and cried over the memories we all shared, but it is a powerful tool for the healing process....and has brought us all even closer.......to our surprise, she had additional DVDs made for all of us sisters and our brother as keepsakes....I haven't been able to watch it again, just yet, but I will always treasure it!!! My point being.....it is probably the best Christmas gift you could have given.....Bless You!!!!

A belated MERRY CHRISTMAS to each and everyone of you! I hope it was perfect in every way...
And I hope that Vickie found a use for the coal Santa must have left her.

I got a wonderful gift from my deceased parents this year - diabetes! (about 2 weeks ago).
Thanks, Mom & Dad!
Good-bye, Carbs. Hello, Fish and Water.

genes.....the gift that keeps on giving! Are they/you thinking it can be controlled by diet or will you have to undergo shots :o More important, at least you have an answer for what may have been contributing to how you have been feeling..... Blood sugar rides can send you spinning or leave you in a giant funk! Being the organized type A person...you will whip those food urges and get your body in line better than most of us. How have you been feeling overall?

I feel great! I knew that this Christmas would be really difficult, as we were going to spend Christmas Day with my BFF's (almost 40 years of friendship...) family. (She died unexpectedly last January 3.) So, I asked my doc for a Happy Pill. Got it. Didn't cry once! Well, okay, once when her dad and I were reminiscing! But just a little. I'm so thankful that the last thing I said to her in person (last Christmas) was "I love you" accompanied by a big, ol' hug.

And the Happy Pill is really helping me deal better with G's failing mental health...I don't yell at him anymore! He LOVES my Happy Pill!

Doc put me on an 1,800 calorie/day diet! If I ate that much, I'd be three times my size! Thank goodness I know better. I'll talk to him about it when I go back for a follow-up. I'm on some pill, too. What with high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and now THIS, all that's left for me to eat is fish and water. Next time you see me (hopefully FL), I'll have gills and fins.

Bring on the new year!!!

I didn't do anything special this year re: gifts. Mostly cash for the older ones, toys for the younger ones.

My nephew made a wonderful DVD for his daughter who just left for college this year. It had great music in it and told about his love for her and the memories of her growing up. He was her softball coach and they won the Championship her final year. It had everyone in tears, but it was a beautiful DVD.

My neice knit scarves for her cousins - she said she carpooled and used that time to make the scarves. The guys hooted and hollered and made fun of her "knitting", but I could tell the girls really liked the scarves.

Interesting that it seemed the "homemade" gifts were enjoyed more than anything else.

So glad that between your own good sense and the doc you are putting a plan of survival together....now does that Happy Pill have any carry over effect for the LA sistar? Just wondering  I know that side effects can do strange things

Good thread. I just wanted to say that In Mexico, as far as I can see, the kids don't get the big piles of gifts that American kids expect. The boy at the campground got a BB gun and the little girl a Princess dress and that seemed to be it. They are so pleased and proud of them.
