Insomniac Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Insomniac Sunday

Postby Getupngo » Sun Dec 27, 2009 2:33 am

I don't often get to start this thread ... but my eyes refuse to close, so I thought I'd break out
the tea & toast for my First Breakfast.

Did you think Christmas was over? Not for me. Tonight I'm getting together with my late
DH's siblings for an after-Christmas party -- at which more gift-giving will go on. Sigh. But
I love those people and so I will go and smile and enjoy myself.

Today someone on Facebook started asking about the "R" word -- resolutions. As in New Year's
Resolutions. Heck! I haven't even finished digesting Christmas dinner. But it got me started
thinking ...

Anyway, I have Orange Seville coffee in the pot, and fresh-baked banana bread steaming.
C'mon in!

Resolutions are wonderful for January, but seldom live longer than that. If I decide to "resolve" something I want to be sure that it's attainable,... none of this "lose 50 lbs by April" stuff!

Good coffee this a.m.... yummy banana bread! Thanks!

Good Morning
I've been up for awhile now, dishes are done, laundry is started and forming my plans
for the day while I enjoy a cup of coffee and a side of toast. Got my big shelf put up
yesterday, big storage tubs are in place and getting a little more organized around here.
I never do resolutions at the New Year, I just do one everyday, and I resolve to be a
better person each day. Works for me. :D Right now I only do one day at a time.
The puppers have been fed and pottied and are now back to bed. They love to burro
when the weather is cold, although I think its quite comfortable in here but then I've
got my sweats on  and they have very little fur.
Off to check for new posts, have a great day and be safe, hoping the storms are
done for a few days at least, to give people time to recoop.

GOOD VERY LATE MORNING TO ALL!

Orange Seville coffee???? Does it taste orangy? If so, I am going to try to find some for this house! Thanks for the coffee and goodies! You sure did serve an early breakfast this morning, Getup!

WOW, did I sleep late, or what! It's still so dark out there at nearly 8:30, I couldn't believe how late it is. The temperature is right around freezing, and rainy/misty/freezing stuff is falling from the skies. I was going to go over the mountain to Upper Jay to visit a friend of mine I used to room with when we both taught in AuSable Forks school----she was the art teacher, and I was the Phys. Ed. teacher back then. She built herself an underground house with a dirt and grass covered roof that she just had redone after 30 some odd years this past summer. I was anxious to see her place, as it was years and years ago that I was there last. Her kids are all grown and on their own now, so she goes to TN where she is working on a fixer-upper (about the 3rd one she has bought for pittance, fixed up, and sold for a good profit) in some little town down there. She leaves in the middle of January, and comes back in the spring. I guess I'll have to see what the weather does in the next couple of hours to know if I will venture forth today, or not. I hope it stays more liquid than ice at this point. Elaine is the person who played a guyitar duet with me back in the 60s at a school music contest assembly---we dressed as the 'Black Widows' and played "Walk Right In", singing it, too! Sigh---I was either very stupid or very brave back then!

Lots of Canada Jays flitting around outside this morning---looking for scraps. I guess I could toss them some goodies from the kitchen. They are the bravest of the jays, and seem to actually crave human attention. I have had wild ones actually land on me in the woods when I was sitting down having a snack! Maybe I can get a picture of some of them when I get off here.

I hope you all are having better weather than it's been here the past few days----our beautiful snow has gone from a helathy 2 feet, or so, down to just a few inches. I hope my driveway is solid enough to drive out of here. Temps are supposed to drop precipitously, however, for the entire 5 days the kids are here.

I won't be on here Monday night or Tuesday morning, as I'll be staying in Chazy at the kids' grandmother's house. I'll have too much other stuff to cart around to bring my laptop----sleeping bags, cots, winter clothing for the Tampa kids, Molly and all her stuff, plus the two kids. I know there is a lot of room in the back, but it will be frigid back there----not good for Molly or a computer!

I will look forward to reading all your posts about your day when I get back here.
Happy Sunday!

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!

Brrrr it's cold down here! Temp is 21f and we have a heavy frost out there. Thank goodness for the wood stove as the power went out again last night for some reason. Suppose to warm up to the high 40's today so it will get better. Hope to get David out working on the trailer wiring today so that I can have my cruise control back. So that then I can have cruise all the time and not lose it as soon as I turn my headlights on. It's a pain in the patoot to lose it because of my headlights. I guess it's in the ground wire somewhere. Might have to ground it differently?

Seeing as how Jenny's mom was calling and nagging Christmas morning for them to get to her house as soon as they got done with opening presents here we didn't get to have our big Christmas breakfast. So this is the morning for our big breakfast. Belated but we will have it as soon as everyone gets up. David and I are the only ones up so far. Oh he just came out with Connor. Jenny is still in bed and so is Kelly. Breakfast will be eggs, homefries with onions, ham steaks, maybe some hash, toast and of course coffee.

David's poor rooster is about horse! He spent all day yesterday crowing. I think he's practicing. And plus every time one of the neighbors roosters crowed David's rooster has to answer back. Good grief it was noisy outside yesterday!!! And David is over the moon, he found another egg last night. Told him I would use his chickens eggs this morning for his breakfast! He's all excited!!!!

Ok coffee is nothing fancy but it's hot and fresh so grab ya a mug and fill it up. Hope everyone has a super good day and remember to stay safe!

Love to all

ps. Soos you could stick your laptop under the seat. No one else can fit under there!

Is there any banana bread left?? Yum! My favorite!

Got up late this morning. The last morning to sleep in now until Friday. The sun is out today! Yay! Makes all the snow glisten and sparkle. I have been lazy the past few days just laying around e-mailing, napping, and reading, so I have a lot of housework, laundry, etc to get caught up on today before the workweek starts.

Glad to hear everyone had a good Christmas and not too held back by the bad weather. I make resolutions every New Years Eve. I actually accomplish a lot of them over the year. Last year I resolved to get back into playing golf on a league I was on 4 years prior, and also to take Spanish classes, both of which I did. There were some others that didn't happen but they will either go back on the new list if still a priority, or get pushed to the wayside. Finding an RV is definately going on the list!

Have a great day!

Good morning/early afternoon all.

It's still in the 20's here and we are still told to stay put. (stop giggling all you northerners) The DOT is concentrating on downtown Tulsa and the major highways, so the side streets and neighborhoods aren't done yet. No sense in leaving the driveway only to get stuck on the street. I'll do my part and stay snug as a bug here. ;) :D I'm well stocked for food as I bought for after the blizzard thinking we will be without power for a few days. guess I'll play with the puppies in the snow and get some more of the driveway cleared off.

Time to get moving, take care all. Linda

Had sleepy heads in this house...no one was really up until about 10am and some of them are just now getting up.
That is rare..Kodie is normally up by no later then 9am and today she slept til 11am. I may regret that come tonight's bedtime, but it was nice to have a quiet house.

Well I admit I did not get to the outside lights, maybe I will get to it today. I spent a few hours deep cleaning and re-arranged the kitchen to make room for the new coffee pot and the Kitchenaid mixer.

Not much else planned for today.

Okay, you win, I can't mess with your pics like you do mine, I'm not that talented, but I can still cook, just nothing with your favorite stinky anchovies.
