Ensenada

Enseneda has one of the most beautiful settings for a city that I've ever seen. Great big rolling Pacific Ocean waves and the city is built on a hill above it. But the traffic! We passed Walmart, had intended to go in and get some stuff before we got to our campground, but Beth radiod, lets come back. Thank heavens we did! When we got to the campground our dogs were so traumatised just by the vibes of stress coming from us. It was amazing. Peaches was a quivering mass that wanted to sit on her foot as she drove, something she never does. Bogie, well you would have thought he had rabies. He was a snarling, growling 75 pound mass of wild eyed terror. If I was that scared there must be something horrible out there that he didn't want to have to deal with.
I had a problem with my hitch, more on that later, so we took Beths Class C back in. The parking lot was an nightmare! There was Walmarts, an open Mall and Home Depot and it was Christmas Eve. Beth had a terrible time negotiating her way through. I don't know what I would have done with my much bigger rig. We ended up parking in the very furthest away lane, and it took a security guard to get us out of there! However shopping in Walmart was fun. They sell Refrigerators, motor bikes and washing machines there. Didn't need those though. At the Bakery section you get a tray and tongs to make your choices. It's the same at the Panderia's (pastry shops). We got in line and Beth went to the ATM as the line was long. While she was there I idly read the sign. Our lane said something in Spanish. I knew it wasn't the number of items. It turned out to be for seniors only, so we were okay. So anyway we get "home" okay. Our campground, Campo 5, is on a bluff, we can't get down to the water, but the view is gorgeous and it only costs 5.00 a day. No hookups, but the owner turns on the hot water for the shower when you ask him.

Because of the hitch problem we took the bus into Cantu. The son of the owner went with us to the Internet Cafe, owned by his Aunt. Cual (as near as I can make out his name) waiting for the bus, they run every half hour and cost 10 pesos.

Beth and I on the bus, taken by a passenger. It's blurry because the driver whizzes down hill and round corners at a breaknet speed.

More in the next post. I want this in before I lose it. Still have to tell you about my hitch. It's getting worse.

The sunset that first night.

I've been watching for your posts to see where you are and what is happening. I have a feeling it's going to be exciting all the way! Hope the hitch gets fixed without too much of a hassle. Do either of you speak Spanish!?

It is beautiful where you are at. I think a spew alert is in order especially after the 11 words and SeeYaGal's reply. Hope your hitch gets fixed.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to both of you.
