When we left San Felipe we had intended to take 3 across to Ensenada, but because of the massive road widening going on we missed the turn, even though we had spotted it on our way in. So we had to drive all the way to Mexacalli and then down towards Ensenada. Remember all those rules and promises we made that would NEVER drive in the dark on Mexcian roads? Huh! Got caught, mainly because of the massive, again, road construction. We were driving on dirt, narrow narrow roads. We were looking for Km 74, where there was a campground affiliated with a School for the Deaf. Well we were doing fine until the road got really torn up and the Km markers disapeared. Beth knew the entrance to it should be on the left, and suddenly her radio came on and she said, there it is, on the RIGHT! So we turned into to Rancho Mordu Sudo. Not a sign or indication it was a campground. Beth said, the heck with it, we are staying where we're parked until they throw us out! We walked the dogs. We were exhausted with the strain of driving way too many miles on torn up roads. We just got back to our rigs when a car drew up and two nice Americans said, Oh the campground is on the other side of the road, but you have to move the traffic cones to get in! Yeah, right, like we would stop in the middle of construction in the dark to do that. However they said, come and eat with us and then we'll show you how to get in, so we did. Can you see Beth over at the back in front of the window? She learned to sign her and my names. The children were so polite. They leaped to their feet every time an adult either left or returned to the table. When we left they gave us a big bag of oranges from their own orange grove.

The weather was really bad so we stayed there 2 nights. When we left we made a cash donation and gave them paperbacks for their library. I had some school notebooks and packets of pens, so they got those too and Beth had made fudge so they got enough for the whole school and staff. And then on to our next adventure. Eeek Ensenada!!!
