Molly's Snow Booties

Postby Nasoosie » Sat Dec 19, 2009 2:42 pm

It's so cold out today that Molly couldn't spend time out there! So I found her little snow booties and a coat to put on her----she was hysterical when she first tried to walk inside! She still is having some trouble outside, and here is a video of her on the deck at about 10 above zero this afternoon! Just click on the picture to go to see the video, if you so choose!

Herschel told me that he would definitely move to warmer lands if staying in snow meant dog boots. Though I figure that dogs can adjust to many things....in his case, it was Christmas "decorations"

That was too cute. I once tried them on Sassy. After a huge struggle I got one on a front foot and one on a back foot. I didn't know she could walk on only two feet. When I quit laughing I took them back.

Molly was found running loose on the streets of Detroit, her collar grown into her neck, strangling her and buried in an infected wound, broken ribs, broken leg, and horrible digestive problems. The best I can figure, after searching the internet for dogs looking like her, is that she is a Carolina Dingo (only wild dogs in the lower 48) who might have been picked up by a trucker heading to Detroit, where she then escaped and became a street dog.

When I first got her, she was terrified of men, and especially men with boots on. (Cause of broken ribs?) She had never been in a house as she ran headlong into the glass doors and windows. I suspect she had lived as a wild and free Dingo until she was captured by someone not nice.

I have been privileged to share my life with a ton of dogs over the years, but she is probably my all-time favorite! She is extremely intelligent, super-well-behaved, and just plain lovable!

Adorable video. I think Molly has been good and Santa will tell her so. Thanks for sharing Soos!! You've got a great pet even tho she is not real crazy about the booties.

Molly's story is much like my Nicky's. I have not had him to share my life as long as you have Molly, but he has come a long way and never lost his ability to love people when shown love.
Has Molly mastered the boots yet? Loved your video.
