GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

Thank heavens for no wind this morning! As you can see, our standing temperature is what our wind chill was yesterday.

It's at least 5 degrees colder than that outside my house. My thermometer is reading -27F. right now. So my plan is to wait for sunup to begin to start my truck and warm it up. I will just be a bit late to school today. That extra time will also allow me to make sure the wood fire is going to stay nice and warm throughout at least the morning.

Today is payday and Friday---what better day could there be for me right now!!

Monday, my class will embark on a class shopping trip to Saranac Lake via school bus. The money the class made on making the wreaths and the signs will be dispersed according to how hard each kid worked, and on how much time each one put in. For some of them, that money and the gifts they buy with it (from the dollar store, mostly) will be the only gifts their families will have for the holidays. It will make them proud to be able to know they earned the money to buy the presents and wrap them up for family members. Tuesday will be wrapping day. Then we are off from that day until the first Monday in January.

I hope you all are having some decent weather, wherever you may be this Friday morning. Coffee is hot, and we are all looking forward to hearing from each other some time today.

Soos, how nice that the kids can buy gifts with money they earned themselves...what an uplifting feeling that should bring them.

Today is our rainy day....much flooding rain south of us. We're expecting over an inch here. Tonight is a community choir Christmas presentation in McIntosh. Kathleen and I are planning to attend. Hope the worst of the rain has passed before I drive there.

My Christmas present to myself was a Roomba Vac...I love it. Keeping up with pet hair on my wood laminate floors in the house is a constant chore. Roomba just finished vacuuming the bedroom while I typed this. Now I'll empty the hair & dirt from the canister and move him to another room. It may seem lazy, but I hate vacuuming, so it works for me.

Stay warm and dry today if you can.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

At the moment the weathers not to bad here. But it's gonna get worse. It's all gray and overcast and the temp is 36f. Good grief! They have issued a storm warning! HA! That's different from last night for sure.

""...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO
7 PM EST SATURDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MORRISTOWN HAS ISSUED A WINTER
STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOWFALL...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM
THIS AFTERNOON TO 7 PM EST SATURDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO
LONGER IN EFFECT.

So that is the weather! I just realized that it's stretched out for over 24hrs. WOW! Hmmmm? Make a mess of everything but it wont stay until Christmas. Bummer! It would be awesome to have a white Christmas. It will still be interesting to see what we get. Gonna have to make sure we hit the grocery store before the hoards do. We need at least one loaf of bread. And down here they totally wipe out the bread, milk and egg section. Might pick up a few candles just in case too and some batteries. Here in the sticks the power goes out a lot during storms so while the stove here is electric David and I both have camp stoves, he has a grill and we both have lanterns. We will be good to go with the wood stove for heat. Our second winter down here we lost power for about a week and a half. Good dang thing we had a kerosene heater and camping gear! We were in good shape. Some people had nothing for back up. I picked up one neighbor on his way home walking trying to carry a brand new kero heater and a 5 gallon can of kero. His car couldn't make the slight hill because of the snow. I had a 4x4 so gave him a ride. He was really grateful and said he was gonna trade in his car and get a 4 wheel drive and never get stuck like that again. HA! Danged if he didn't have a 4x4 parked in his driveway the following week. People are so funny down here with the snow!!! They have no idea what to do with it. If you see someone out driving in the snow they either have a 4x4 or if not? Then they are what's called, "Damned Yankees". In other words a transplant from a northern region and they are used to driving in snow.

Well I've been up since 7:30, got the dishes done, laundry going and the wood stove heating. Coffee pot just shut it's self off and Kelly is still in bed. I think it's time for "The Mom" to wake Kelly's butt up!!!!

Hope ya'll have a great day. If your in an area where your gonna be getting bad weather, please get prepared and stay safe!!!

Love to all

Kelly and I are going to town of course to do some running around. Need to take some outfits we bought Conner for Christmas as they either are to small or will be soon enough that he wont get hardly any wear out of them. Will pick up groceries while out too as the freezer is pretty bare.

Morning Soos and Liz! and those to check in later....

It's finally a sunny morning here in central TX. Seems like cloudy, dreary days have been here for ages. I would not do well in those areas with so many days of rain. It's SUN for me!

Yesterday I finished a final sewing project for Christmas. Now will do the wrapping of presents. Really not so many. Just the kids and my DD. All year round I keep a display of 'christmas lights' in my (unused) fireplace. At night it is very cozy. And now my little Christmas tree next to it adds to the cheery atmosphere. The owl ornaments look more like little dogs. It's pretty funny actually! :D

And in the procrastination column is bookkeeping. I truly want to catch up today to be current through the rest of the holidays. And have a nice neat desk!

Have a fun day.....

Hey Echo..you beat me to the 'post'!

They are predicting lots of snow for us next week thru Christmas up here in Minnesnowta. At least it warmed up some (20's).

Say, Liz, do they make a Roomba for washing dishes?!! I don't have a dishwasher or a dog, and I hate washing dishes!
(I heard a story once where this family had a neighbor who would always show up around dinner time uninvited and stay to eat. They tried to think of a way to curtail these visits, so one day after dinner, they put the plates on the floor, let the dog lick them clean and put them back in the cupboard. The neighbor never came back for dinner!)

We're having a December Thaw ... and I'm sure Ma Nature will certainly have to make up for it.

I MAY get my RV back today ... depending upon whether a bathroom faucet has already been delivered and the body shop was able to fit my rig in. But I'm expecting Monday or Tuesday.

In the meantime ... I'm having coffee and dealing with a winter hay-fever attack. We're having a Red-alert air quality day ... so I won't be doing jumping jacks.  I took some antihistamine -- as recommended -- last night and got incomprehensibly stoned. Didn't realize how impaired I was until my roommate came home and I tried to talk.

Good Morning, well Jean, Chris, & Beth should be on their way to San Felipe hope they get there safe and sound. Weather is 69 degrees in Yuma and will get up to 75 degrees today and tomorrow with a breeze.
So quiet here without the gals, we totally overwelmed Dan lol, the man who is a constant talker was speechless around all us gabbing gals!
Gotta get busy and make up the Christmas cookies to hand out to the neighbors this year....HO-HO-HO!

Home for the weekend, wood is in by the stove, Molly went out, trailer still electrified, shopped for some engine oil for the kicker and some dry gas for all vehicles, deposited my check in the bank, mailed a contract for the FL house appliance insurance for 2010, got me some light egg nog, and am now having spiked egg nog ---in my fleece long pants and heavy duty fleece uppers of various layers! It's a balmy +11 here right now at 4:26 p.m.

I heard on the news that Saranac Lake Airport recorded the coldest spot in the lower 48 today----25 degrees below zero F. officially there-----just the first day of many to come like that, if things run according to normal!

Ahhhh.......What luxury to have another week all done and a two free days to look forward to!

Well it's snowing!!!! Took a picture with Kelly's phone but she doesn't have the expansion card to upload to photo bucket with her so will have to post it later after we get home. We have over an inch of snow already. It started out rain then mixed with light slush. It started snowing at about 4:30pm. We might be in for a good one. They are calling for up to 8" and I've heard a few people say that they had heard that we could get up to 10" of snow!!! Holy crap!!! We are at Books a Million right now and WOW has the parking lot really cleared out. LOL This store is like a ghost town. Have tried to get a hold of David but haven't heard back from him. We aren't very far from where he works so will swing in there to check if he is still there. Then we will head home, stopping for groceries on the way.

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas!!!

Think when we get home I will have David climb up in the attic and find the 2 pairs of winter boots we left here!!! Might need them.
