SUB-ZERO SUNDAY

GOOD MORNING!

It's our first below-zero day since last winter here, and Molly's feet said it was COLD out there! Right now it's about 5 below zero F. It looks as if the sun might show today, however, which should warm it up enough to ski by about noon, or so. I got a quick ski run yesterday before the hefty winds returned, and it felt good, if not a bit unsteady, to be gliding over the white stuff again!

A friend of mine came over for supper and we played some Rummikube, so I am sorry I missed the chatroom last night. Other than that, my Saturday was quiet and spent cleaning and washing bedding for the kids when they get here.

It was so good to hear from Kathleen, and know that she was greeted by Liz, helped to get set up, and was at last at her destination for the winter. That picture Liz took was the first time I have seen Kath's rig up close----it's HUGE!!!!! No wonder it took you a few days to get there, as it must be like being back at your bus-driving job! Holy Cow----I had no clue that thing is so big! Beautiful, but HUGE! CONGRATULATIONS on your first long solo voyage! Can't wait for some more pics!

I hope everybody else is having decent weather---although I see that southern CA is having nasty snow and ice storms mingled with mudslides and rockslides. THAT is NOT nice at all. I hope those of you in that area will hole up and wait for better weather.

Guess I'll sort through sweaters and warm clothing today, trying to eliminate some winter togs that haven't been worn in years----like snomobile suits and worn-out boots, etc. I will also add some holiday decorations to the inside of the house. And, of course, bring in the firewood----I didn't do that yesterday, so today I have double duty with that lifting, lugging, and placing in the log rack in here. That is my gym date for the day----cheap tuition, and I can spend as much time at it as I want to!

I think it just got darker as I am typing---where is that sun? Maybe I should ski right now before the winds come up. Molly might have to put on her hiking boots, which she HATES! Or, I could take a loop by myself and she will howl and screech all the while I am out there, especially if she sees my skis, hat, and mittens!

Good morning Soos and all...

here it is 20° above zero,... usual winter day. Can you believe that it's 25 degrees warmer and we're only about 25-35 miles apart as the crow flies. But Soos is over a range of mountains and at a higher elevation. Sun is still here too.

Today will be cleaning, getting tree up and some of the village. That will be it for this year. Too much going on to get everything out. Just not enough time.

Yep, Kathleen is here safe and sound....and tired too, but what a nice lady she is! Shadow is a cute little dog and I know a great companion to her too.


The sun is shining here in Ocala this morning and temps should be warm in the 70s-80s. Sure is changeable weather here lately...going from hot to cold to warm again in the space of a few days.

Off to church....wishing all a day full of the good Lord's blessings.

good to see Kath made it to her destination, right now we have 48* and its suppose
to get up to 66.
Dogs want their breakfast, they come to me pestering to get on it, so they go
nose the blanket to get Pixie up, cause they know she'll get the job done.
Pixie didn't budge so I have a reprieve.
Will do a little more tiding up around here to do yet before everything is back in
its place. The "non-move" made it apparent that I still have too much extra stuff
and pitched out even more yesterday. Working on a bunch of clothes that don't
fit anymore, wore out or out of style and I just plain don't like. Off to the charity
box for them!

Haven't checked the temps yet, but assume it's in the 20s as a warm front was making it's way in as of last night. I think we have the 30s for highs today. No rain at the moment! We got a sprinkling yesterday and it did freeze instantly on the ground and it's probably slick out there this morning in certain places. Today should clear all that up and then rain will start. That's pretty much our normal winter weather here.
Nothing much else planned for today, church will be my only outing. I will get in a walk later if it's not pouring rain. My little dog is going stir crazy and needs one.

I've no idea what the temperature is in Yuma, but yesterday we were actually warm for the first time in ages. It looks as if its going to be another beautiful day in the neighborhood. Chris should arrive today and maybe a visit from Sheila (Snowball) and Larry. That would be great. I bought some water from these vender machines that are all over Yuma. 50c for 5 gallons. I actually got closer to 6 gallons. So when we leave here we will fill our tanks. Feels funny to be buying water, but the price is good. Then gas up and get Propane, probably on Wednesday and we will be off.

Wow that is a big beautiful rig! Glad you arrived safely Kath.

There are a couple arts fairs today. One at an elementary school and another at a knitting shop. I like to see what people are creating and look for new projects. Finished the nephews shirts and in the mail. Now I'm sewing Mom and Me apron sets for Xmas presents. The shirts didn't photograph well, but will post aprons, they are really cute.

Time for a walk before more rain moves in. Hope you are all having a fun day!

Hello Sistahs!!!

I have spent the whole morning wandering and surfing the website of 'Work for RV'ers and Campers. Then was looking up stuff for David. So that shot my idea of a Good Morning post.

Rainy yucky weather here today but at least it's warmer than yesterday and tomorrow it's suppose to be in the 60's. Hmmmm I'll believe it when I feel it!!!

Soos hope the heck you got lots of winter woolies to wear. Brrrrrrr I like the snow well enough but not those freezing temps. Nothing much at all planned for today. got the plastic wrapped around the chicken coop yesterday so that helps out the chickens a lot. Soos don't worry about ventilation in the coop. There's no way that thing could be made that air tight. David built it from scrap lumber from Lowes and some old tin roofing from around the house. To many cracks to completely close. I still need something to plug up the eaves so that heat can build up from the drop light and the chickens themselves.

Ok, I am gonna try and talk Kelly into going to Bristol TN to do some visiting. Not sure if I can manage to drag her out of the house?
