Wild weather Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wild weather Wednesday

Postby Liz » Wed Dec 02, 2009 8:21 am

At least that's what's predicted here in central FL today. Storm front coming through with tornado watch....then a cold front, but not as cold as they first predicted.

Bandit goes to the vet for his checkup/shots today. Hopefully will get there and home before the rains come.

I gained weight on my cruise...no surprise, even though I took the stairs instead of the elevator every day. Just too many courses to the meals served, and especially the warm chocolate melting cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert every night. Now I need to get back to limits on eating and exercise.

Laundry today. Vacuuming. Boring.

Hope you all have something interesting to do and see today.

One thing I'm really enjoying is catching up on all the posts I've missed. Beth and Sparkle in Tucson, Carol & Bill in Mexico, and all the places you've shared that I'm adding to my lists.

I had a good nights sleep on BLM land in Quartzsite. Today Beth and I are going to The Slabs in CA. We will meet up with Chris (OregantoCal) there. Beautiful weather. Cool nights, warm days.

Good Morning All - Its about 65 degrees here will probably get to mid 70s.
Liz - we saw that storm on TV - looks like it will be a devil. Take care.
We went into Guaymas the other day and discovered that there was a lot of damage there in Sept. from Jimena. The whole roof of the big church in the main plaza caved in. One report said there was over 50 inches of rain in parts of Sonora. THAT is a lot of rain. We are just veging out. Will leave here Saturday to mosey down the road a piece.
Take care everyone - travel safe.

Well we are headed into a dry but cold Dec...after the very wet Nov..I am not complaining.

I get to somewhat relax today...yeah!!!
After yesterday's day of Chaos..I can really use it..I think I passed myself coming and going yesterday.
6:30 am took the 3 teen girls to the bus stop (my dd and two of the neighbor girls). The bus stop is 1/2 mile away from our house. We have narrow mountain roads and I feel it is safer to drive them, as it is dark outside.
Then it was home to grab coffee and breakfast and get ready to take DS to college class ( his car is in the shop getting new front brakes and a battery)
Then it was back home for about an hour then...it off to Chaos..
DD Kodie had PT and then right after that we had to go to the local theater to see Charlotte's Web. The theater here has an educational series they run during the school year ( 6 different plays/acts come in).
Then we had to get older DD from school and run to thrift store to get a few things she needs for her play that opens this weekend.
Then it was a dirve through Mcdonalds...then older dd to gymnastics...then went and picked DS up from college...
Finally home for a short time..
Then it was back out the door to get Kodie to adaptive aquatics program..got her dressed, ready and in the pool with her volunteer..then it was off to get DD frm gymnastics and drop her off at ball room dance..as they have a showcase on Sunday and it was dress rehersal and picture night.
Then back to the swimming pool....finish at the pool.
Then I had to run to the church where DS goes for Boy Scouts and pick up his poinsettias..off course it was locked up...(DH was suppose to stop by on his way home from work..he forgot)
So then I went to get DD from dance hall..they were running behind.
Finally finished up and we drive back to the church and the Cub Scout group was there...so I was able to get in get the plants.
Then DH called and wanted to know if I could stop at the store....NO!! ( I guess we were low on a couple of his lunch things) I told him I was done and I am going home. He had headed back into town to take DS to youth group at the mall (they are shopping for youth group tonight..our church has at Christmas Time..a community toy store, low income families will get referred they can come to to the store and get things at 70% off the original price. This allows them the pride factor of being able to shop for gifts for their kids) I ask him why he could not go...he said he had hoped he could go to the gym and work out.

So I was glad to finally get home and get dinner made. I made crepes and we used the left over cranberry sauce for the filling ( I make the cranberry sauce from whole berries. We also added a few more whole cranberries..I just nuked them for 1 min to soften them up. It was sooooo good.
I love it when I discover a creative way to use up leftovers. I may have to buy some more fresh cranberries and freeze them in 1 cup portions to keep for crepes throughout the year.

Today...we have gymnastics and DS has wrestling that DH will take him too. So I will chill out.

Ali and Ron are back home from their trip to California...they MH should be ready today or tomorrow. They are looking forward to getting back into their home.

HOLY COW, KRISTY!!!

Talk about a busy day! Makes mine feel like a walk in the park! Now THAT'S moving!

Liz, sure do hope you avoided most of that horrid weather I saw headed your way this morning on the radar.

Wish I could meet up with Beth, Sparkle, and Chris at the slabs!

Hope you all had a good day, so far. I'm at school, counting down the minutes 'til dismissal time!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

That rain came through here yesterday and it rained all day and into the night before it moved out. We were just drying out from the last big rain we got and it's muddy again. It was cold, windy and gray today. It's seldom that I wear a coat but I needed one today. The weather man is talking about a freeze Friday night and maybe snow. I doubt that, we haven't had snow in 10 years.

I went to the dentist this morning and afterward I went to the Cracker Barrel restaurant. I like to see what they have for Christmas and when I go with my DH I don't have time to look. Tomorrow night they have a Christmas Stroll in the downtown area. All the stores stay open and most serve hot chocolate or some kind of dessert. There's a map you can get and if you get all the merchants to stamp your map you can put it in a barrel and you might win a prize. That's too much like work to me. If it is as cold tomorrow night as it is tonight I don't think I will make it.
