Tina, we are very near Quartzsite right now. Will probably go there tomorrow, as I need to see this semi-nekkid bookstore man LOL

That said - yes there is a story behind that sign. Last winter Sparkle went to Quartzsite - because everyone always talks about it. She HATED it there. I remember her posting or emailing me about how much she disliked it. This past summer in Alaska, I was in a store (Liz and Carol will remember this) in Skagway, AK. The shop was all handmade signs - mainly funny sayings and lots to do with Alaska. Then there was this one - well you see the picture. I saw it and immediately thought of Sparkle, and purchased it. The man who owned the store agrees with her entirely :) Now that we are headed there for a day, she pulled out the sign I bought her.

Figured we should assume she didn't like it. She hides her true feelings so well, sometimes it is difficult to tell

Many of the pics I get on here are cut off on the right---so where is this magic button, Ava, that says "Expand view?"

Well, I figure you guys will have some fun regardless of what you find.....it is important to know what you don't like.....it makes the likeables even sweeter....... and what fodder would there be if Ms Sparkle was agreeable all the time.......some to think of it.....

We spent last night at a campground just outside Quartzsite because Beth wanted to meet up with Dunloggin (Mary) from the ORS Forum. Really nice lady.

What a difference when you are in Quartzsite with a friend. I'm actually liking this. This is where we are boondocking. If we were staying longer we would hunt around and find a really good spot, but it's just for one night.

We went to Hi Jolly's monument (be patient, the nude guy will show up)

Okay, here it comes. First view of the nude guy.

Nude guy walking away. Wrinkled bum and all. Well maybe not his all. That's the next photo.

Beth just reminded me. When we were coming to Quartzsite we went through a Border Patrol. At the side of the road who should we see but Tioga George. He had broken down and the tow truck was there to haul him back to Gila Bend. Those of you who read his journal will know about his breakdown. The funny thing is he was just yards from the Border Patrol and he could have walked over and asked for a call to a tow truck place, but no, he has to appeal via his blog for people to help him.

Wow. That's all I can say. Wow. I don't feel so bad looking at my nude body any more now!

Is this why so many who visit that area decide to buy books!! :)

BUT, I must say, I would NOT parade around with a thong and pasties in public! I DO, however, walk around totally nude in private, as I am as about as isolated as I could be where I live. If the electric meter-reader comes up the driveway, I have been known to hide in the tall grass and bushes until he leaves!

How was his B.O.? When I saw him last year, couldn't bear to get close to him. Of course, it was also a really hot day.
