Chilly Saturday Morning in Georgia...

Am up early as I was in bed early last night....guess the week just caught up with me.... Ernie and Spinner are both snuggled in and snoring...yep, both of them...ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ..... We're helping some friends move their 5er out to their property today....so will take the camera just in case of a great photo op......the campground will survive without us for a few hours.... The temp. right now is 38F, chilly....but the day's forcast has us warming up soon....

Okay, the coffee's on and the orange rolls are hot....lots of butter for them.....Help yourselves!!!

GOOD MORNING TO LORI AND ALL!

I loved the pic of Ernie and Spinner I saw posted yesterday somewhere! Great shot!

So much for our pretty snow we had on the ground when I went to bed last night. It got rained out all night long, with warm temps, heavy rains, and heavy winds. Sigh----and I was so looking forward to skiing today.

The temperature is dropping back down, as it's dropped three degrees since I first got up---it's now back down to 31 degrees here. But no precipitation in the forecast, other than little 'showers' all day long.

Today will be laundry day for me...no need to go to the dump yet. I also need to bring in some more firewood. Then Molly and I will take a walkabout, run the Kicker for a bit, and no other plans. I guess I should go to Price Chopper, too, and get some groceries. We shall see.

Hope you all have recovered from the feasts of the past couple of days! One year, before I had my gall bladder removed, I had the most painful ride back from Mema's Thanksgiving feast imaginable, and ended up in the ER as I truly believed my stomach had ruptured! Gallstones were the cause, so I got rid of that offending organ a while later. But I remember that horror each year now!

Hope you all are still with family and/or friends, and that you will be CAREFUL driving back to your home grounds, wherever that may be.

A little chillier here this morning, also. I woke up about 2:00 A.M. to some "wind in the awning" sounds. Not good. So, on with the slippers and outside to reel it in. Might not have been necessary as the wind has now died down a little, but after seeing the disastrous results when others have taken chances, i wasn't going to risk it. Later on I heard several other people doing the same thing.

Think I'll go to the library and add yet another library card to my growing collection. I do miss Coffeyville for one reason: we had a great book swap I'd started with only a few books. When I left, it had grown to three large plastic boxes of all kinds of reading. I thought about driving over to Quartzsite yesterday to wander through the bookstore, but decided the library would be a lot cheaper.

Watching the beautiful Buddhist movie last night, " Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring," convinced me gently that it's time to begin my meditation practice again. Over the past few years, since seminary, that practice has gotten lost and replaced with busy-ness and trying to make a living, and I've been noticing the effects of that loss lately. My mind jumps around from topic to topic at will, and it's really hard to concentrate on any one thing much of the time. What better place for meditation than in the middle of the desert?

Good Morning All - It is somewhat overcast here this a.m. but the sun is trying to peak though. Bill has already dug his shorts out - no more long pants for him.
For some reason our Internet isn't coming up this a.m. so am using the parks. Will check it out later when the dew dries and the clouds lift some. No phone reception so hope they have on line tech support. But need another cuppa coffee before I tackle that. And maybe breakfast at Jorges - Bill can't wait to have huevos rancheros - been hearing about them for the last month!!!
The peso is 12 to one dollar last year it was 14 - so things aren't quite as cheap. gasoline is about 2.40 a gallon.
Not much to do around here but relax - unless I can talk him into taking a drive in the desert or go to the old pier.
Will keep you posted.

Morning,
Coffee tastes good this morning. Well, it tastes good every morning!
I slept fairly well last night. Nothing to watch on the boob tube. I figured that the day after Thanksgiving they'd be some special movies or at least some Christmas oldie cartoons.
I haven't see the forecast for today but I think it's suppose to be like yesterday. Cool and sunny. It must be pretty cold out this morning as the furnace has been going all morning.
Today is my DDs 39th birthday! She came into this world at 8 lb 6 oz and 22 1/2" long and is now 5' 5" and 115 lb. I thought she'd end up allot taller but that distinction went to her brother who is 6'4".
Nothing but a walk planned for the day. My DD and family just got home late last night from AZ after spending Thanksgiving with her in=laws so don't know what her birthday plans are. Probably doing laundry. LOL
I'll have my oatmeal here in a bit. Need to be more awake.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Oh goodness that coffee hit the spot this morning. It is still hitting the spot too. Working on a second pot, 1st was only 8 cups, 2nd is a 6cp batch. Taking more coffee as David is sitting here with me helping me drink it!!! The things we Mothers do and share! Just shows the love I guess! He had usurped the laptop looking and drooling at goodies on Ebay but now he's in with Jenny and Conner so it's my turn on the laptop.

Jenny is off to the grocery store with her Mom. She tried to talk David into going too? Nope not to many guys want to spend quality time in the grocery store. I've got a few chores for David to do. He broke his sledge hammer handle, got mad and threw it out in the pasture. So I'm gonna make him go find it and fix it so that he can split the rest of his firewood. hehehe We also need to let the wood stove go out so he can clean the ashes out.

Ok Jenny is out the door and David is gonna want the laptop back and I guess I will read some of my book for now.

The morning is almost over....I did get many of the outside lights up. Each year we buy a couple new things for outside.
This year...DH is returning the one..to exchange it. DD was so upset ...she doesn't understand that only half of it worked. It is Peanuts with Snoopy and woodstock on his dog house. So hopefully DH will soon be home with one that works. I figure it is new out of the box...I am not going to play around and figure out why only half of it is working...I will just exchange it for a new one.

I did buy more things for outside. We really cleaned out the decorations last year...and many of the outside ones..were not working or half working. Since we had had them for several years...I figured we start with a few new things...that I did get on clearance last year.

I will hit the after Christmas sales again...I will buy more of teh C7 bulbs. I did buy a few packages last year on clearance...but had to buy more. The strings we have are a few years old...and this year seems to be the "replace" the bulb. So needless to say...I had to buy more. They were on sale for 79cents/pkg. Not as good as the clearance price of 2/1.00 But not all that bad either.

I also tell people now...they ask me what I want for Christmas...I tell them outdoor decorations...and lights.
I really enjoy the lights and decorations of the season.
