Er...the nice folks filling their plates at the Thanksgiving Dinner at Why, AZ campground.


Beth and I peeking through. We were talking after and agreed, those people were OLD. Not much older than we were, but old in their outlook on life. We were advised not to go to Mexico. Advised to take big walking sticks when we walked along the trails out of the campground. Long boring stories about their operations. Everything was negative.

Age is all about attitude.....and outlook...... I know what I don't want to be...and am trying daily to figure out what I want to be when I grow up.......

you suppose they were trying to warn you about rattlesnakes? wouldn't they be

Yep, attitude IS everything - said it before, said it again. And we should have sat at the other end of the table They only kept sending us more food and plying me with liquor (didn't work, but they tried). I did try one of the drinks - was very good - so I stayed away from more of them.

After eating, we went hiking with Peaches - without taking any sticks. Ha. We'll show them ole fogies. Funny thing - we both have walking sticks - but there are times and places I feel the need for them- here isn't one of them. Although I suppose if a snake decided to show his head, one could come in handy.

Isn't it sad that some people can be so old before their time and so negative. Both Bill and I are in our 70s but feel (and I hope act) much younger. Bill's older brother has been OLD since he was 45. Our youngest son keeps telling me I need to grow up. Don't think so.

It's funny, I just read Beth's post about the donkeys and outside my window there are a couple braying like crazy. I hope Beth can hear them. It's too dark to go out and see them, I know they'd just run.

Age is a state of mind. I hope I never truly get like that! There are a few things that I use to dream of doing that I don't think I will try now? I don't know if it's the thought of my age? Or if it's the thought of my mortality? When your young you never give a thought of what can happen or go wrong, when ya get older ya know better.

Some of the things I did do when I was younger I sure the he77 don't think I would attempt now! Whew. And no I'm not telling!!! David has wanted me to do a couple of things but told him "No" because of my age. He twitted me for acting old. Told him yes I was older but that being OLD wasn't the reason I wouldn't. Reminded him and myself that I don't 'bounce' quiet like I did when young. And that when a person gets older they don't heal as well or as quick.

But an old stick in the mud I will never, never, never be. I'll be an old codger or an old coot instead!!!!

When I was young I was way too busy working and supporting my daughter. Now I'm having fun and tell everyone I'm going through my 2nd childhood. After seeing my picture in my Flamingo getup my daughter says I act younger than her sometimes. I agree with Echo about being a little more careful of the body but age is attitude so that makes me about 29.

Oh no, I wouldn't want to be 29 again!! Now 39 or 40? Oh yeah!!! Even tho from Aug of 93 to Aug of 94 were a disaster emotionally. I enjoyed 'being' those ages!!

It was funny when we got in our 911 "situation" I could hear the dispatch telling the officer that we were an older couple with an rv. Made me chuckle since I'm 48 and Ronnie's 41, wonder how old she was, lol. I assumed it was because I had said that he was in a wheelchair, but you know, it could have been the fact that my nerves had my voice so shaky and cracking! I don't think I'd want to be 29 again, but I'm sure my body would.

Having worked with individuals of all ages and attitudes and spending my career focused on providing services to children and young people (which also meant motivating children) I believe that the quality that sets individuals apart as they age is their ability to PLAY and laugh and the ability to be curious about this wondrous world and to see and believe in possibilities.....not just physically but more importantly with their minds and spirits. It is what many love the most about being around very young children.....they remind us sometimes of what we used to believe in.....who we used to be.....and who we can still be..... it is all now.....

According to my kids, I will never grow up, nor do they even expect me to, at this point! For years, they had no clue how old I really am! I always told them I was just as old as I felt that day. I think they were sort of shocked to find out I was no longer their age!

Being around kids DOES tend to make you stay younger, as long as you don't take yourself seriously. I think it was my father who taught me how to stay child-like forever---he certainly never grew up, and made sure we knew how to stay in awe of every day.

Age is definitely attitude, and, as long as we can all play, we must be young!
