Lawn bowling

Every day about this time, the guys, and some women, use the great lawn bowling area in front of my RV for their tournaments (I use that term very loosely.) Mostly it's a fun way to take advantage of the great weather and get some exercise. But, some of them really get into it. I understand that the tournaments really get going after Christmas with sometimes six lanes going. This morning there is only one.

These guys are really having fun. Looks like a cross between bowling, bocce, and pool to me. Oh, they invited me to play. We'll see. With my aim, the balls would end up way out in the dirt field. 8-)

Looks like the gals are enjoying some peace and quiet back at the camper after sending the "boys" out to play!

I'll bet it's fun.

Get out there Chris and learn! After all you don't have lug a 20lb blowling ball, there are no gutters and no stinky rented shoes. Do I give you the impression I don't care for bowling? Chris, you do come up with interesting topics!

Let's put it this way: my average bowling score is about 45. Stinky shoes? Right. Heavy balls with tiny little holes that pinch your fingers and break fingernails? Check. Gutters? I do my best when bowling somewhere there are inflatable things in the gutters (for little kids) that keep the ball in the lane. I'll probably join them once or twice, but I really wasn't kidding about sending the ball into the adjoining dirt field.
