Campfire

stirring the fire a little cause I think it needs it ahhh, pretty
gonna sit a spell, watch a few flickers and work up a little energy to
make myself an omelet sandwich. I'm been hankering for egg all day.

Oh Tina there's no pressure!! None at all. I am usually pretty modest about my perfection but as seeing how I keep it so quiet no one remembers to remind me that I'm perfect. So I have to remind myself every once in a little while!!! I just simply hate it when everyone shows so much awe and cheers in my presence. It makes me really shy.

Fire does look good tonight. Ava you did a fine job of stirring it up!! I'll just add a couple of more pieces of wood. I brought some with me tonight but I think we need a visit from Ferny!!! And I'll help stack!

gonna stop and relax a bit, stir the fire, grab a drink and watch the fire dance around.
Had a great day today, very productive, chiropractic stuff is going well, it all feels so
good, then at lunch I got my hair cut. I'll have to change my avatar as soon as I get
a new one to put in there. Saved the pony tail, and I was going to donate it to the
locks of love program but the hair cutter lady (my friend) told me I could get paid
for it if I went through the right channels. People that buy hair weaves will pay big
bucks so she's gonna check into it for me. The tail is really long, from my elbow to
my finger tips and very thick.
Oh, and I love my new hair do

you will find pictures in post titled The New Do
and guess what, I got a free turkey today 15.5 lbs, takes up the whole bottom
of my refrigerator and of course it isn't going to fit in the oven. So heres
the story, I stopped during my dinner break to grab a bite from the deli at the
grocery store and there was a guy in front with two grocery carts full of turkeys
out front, from Salvation Army. He said, "Mam, if you need a turkey, take one,
or if you'd like to buy a turkey for a needy family they took donations, something
something, he rattled it all off so quick I asked him to repeat it. Anyhooooo, he
repeated himself and I politely said I didn't need one and was sorry I couldn't
afford to buy one for a needy family and proceeded in the store. On my way out
he practically jumped in front of me and stopped me with a turkey in hand and
said, "here, you need to take a turkey home" I'm sure I had this really dumb
look on my face and took the turkey and said thank you. I got back on my bus,
set the turkey on the floor of the first seat, and about cried. It really moved
me and I thought of all those familys that needed the turkey more than I did as
I had an invite to my daughters dads (ex #1). Then I thought about how long I
could eat off that turkey. When it thaws I'll cut it down into pieces and cook it.
Then I'll freeze it. I'm sure it will fill the freezer.
Then, to end the day, after my last run I caught all green lights into the yard, pulled
in and got ready to back into my parking space and in my mirrors I see all this smoke!
I grabbed my radio and hollared for the mechanics as I was right behind the shop, and
they came out and asked me if I overheated, no, its not even 200 and I shut it down
and left it there. Turns out it was antifreeze, steam, not smoke. So guess I busted
a hose. Grabbed my turkey off the floor and left, the mechanics giving me a funny
look with turkey in hand, I just said "it was free" and "night, see ya tomorrow"

Whewwwwww...........thank goodness...I finally got to sit down..... It's been so busy here...We've had a "full-house" here in the campground Got a few minutes, and wanted to check in with all of you.....tomorrow is more of the same....Thanksgiving day all of us are going into the base/post to have Thanksgiving Dinner with the Troops....Great fun for all of them...the Retired Vets here in the campground and the Active Duty Guys....everyone is looking forward to it........so having my hot tea and enjoying a few minutes at the campfire here helps me to revive....thanks, all....

ahhhhh, gotta sit down and enjoy the fire, I'm stuffed. Dinner was fabulous
as usual, and the pie was heavenly, although there was about 4 different
normal thanksgiving pies, the one I had was different. Chocolate peanut butter
pie, so good! I brought some home and already finished it off and the plate
of leftovers will be tomorrows dinner.
Add a couple logs here to keep the fire going good, and I'll finish my glass of wine.

The fire is crackling and sending some sparks up towards the sky. Just got back from the brother and sister-in-laws.....great food. had picked the ds up from the airport with the many be someday dil (who knows they have been together about 4 years now) went straight from the airport to the bil's....good food, some cute babies and nice conversation and catching up.....

The house is actually clean, even though the kids will probably barely come through the door tomorrow morning before heading down to see the grandma in her apt...... They visit for a short while and then I am driving her over to the hospital for an outpatient procedure....have to remember to bring my computer...and a good book........ After their short visit the kids pick up a rental truck and head east to Marietta to pick up a load of furniture that he is taking on in to NYC to put in the new office space he is moving his company in to......life is exciting for the young and energetic....

Haven't heard from the "girl chick" but hoping that she will check in sometime.....the expected the eats to be pretty good in NC. I am surrounded by some snuggily puppies, and thinking that I will be falling to sleep real soon....yawn..... No more wine......

There are campfires all around this campground tonight. Steven came over earlier, so we sat outside drinking wine and watching a magnificent sunset.
Earlier, I took advantage of the perfect weather and washed half of my rig. Must have scrubbed off 2,000 miles worth of bug guts and everything else. The half looks pretty good. Need to borrow a taller ladder tomorrow to do the front over the windshield as that's where most of the bugs collected.

Watched a wonderful Buddhist movie called "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring." I'd seen it in the theater several years ago. Beautiful scenery, and the perfect thing to watch in the mood I've been in lately. Have been trying my best to not think about Lou so much, and it's still pretty hard. He invited me to meet him in El Centro so we could take the dogs out to the desert. I thought about it and decided it wouldn't be the best thing to do as I just can't envision us being "just friends" after so long. So, I turned him down, wishing I hadn't, but knowing it was the right thing to do, at least at this time. Unfortunately, the "other woman" would always be between us. I thought life might get easier as I got older. Wrong.

Anyway, the calmness and Buddhist philosophy of the movie helped quite a bit. I found myself relaxing and feeling a little less sad.

You did the right thing Chris. Men would love to be able to hang a spare woman in the closet until the time was right... for them. Lou may even come to realise he's made a mistake letting you go, and if in the future that's the case, then you'll be a stronger woman and let him know it can't be all his way. You are the one with the Highway!
