Honest! This where we boondocked on BLM land. Tonight will be our 11th night here.
Mr. & Mrs. Cactus
A hooch by the fire. We were thinking of you all.
Now a sad story. A women in a rinky dink trailer got pulled in by somebody's truck and they left. We hear she was a homeless woman. When we had the fire she came over and tried to sell us her trailer, of course we had no need for one. She also said she was leaving for Washington on Saturday and was thinking about dumping her dog. She said "it would manage." Of course we didn't like that idea. Anyway she left, somebody came for the trailer and the dog IS TIED TO A TREE! Since Friday. It is in the shade. It does have a sleeping bag to lie on, and water. Also 2 cans of dog food, which it can't open of course. Someone here said she told them somebody would be coming for the dog on Saturday. Well it's sunday night and no one has shown up. The good thing is the way these strangers have rallied round the dog. People are always checking to see it has water. A guy opened one of the cans of food. I've been taking dry dog food over. We will make sure that the guy who said he would call the Humane Society follows through on Monday before we leave. The dog is not friendly, but is getting sadder and more depressed looking every day. He knows his human isn't coming back.
