Its late in the season for these guys to be around but isn't he beautiful. He posed for me long enough to get these pictures. Texas is FINALLY getting the kind of weather I like. Birdie is coming through on Monday just long enough to go have lunch. She gotta really catcj that woman on the fly - I think that's why her name is Birdie.

Beautiful pictures, Karen. Glad the weather is making you happy. We're having a little front come thru, so even though it is windy and gray, I'm enjoying the cooler weather. carold

Took me a couple of seconds, but I got it!
Probably would have asked, though, if you ripped its wings off, one by one...

Beautiful black swallowtail pictures, Karen! Sure do wish I could see some of those back up here, but not until next summer, now! I will save one for my computer slide show screen saver.

I have a Kodak Easyshare with great zoom. The little picture at the top is my attempt crop the picture. When I switched computers with Windows 7 I lost the free Adobe photoshop - damn, damn, damn. I had just barely figured out how to crop and sharpen on that program. This was using Kodak's program which I don't like. I downloaded a different freeby and will try that one next.

Try IrfanView. It's a free download and I've used it for a couple of years. Works great.

Great photos. Love butterflies. Think all of ours around here are gone for the year - getting too cold for them.

Hey Karen! Nice shot! Have you been to the butterfly house at Wildseed Farms in Fredricksburg? They have literally thousands of butterflies most all year round. Maybe we can meet for lunch and a visit?
