Traveling at Warp Speed

Yes we are finally on the road - and have been making lots of miles in little time. Every time we start out The Driver says, "no more than 150 miles a day." Well it's been 2 days and we've covered 750 miles and half of that in the rain! I tell him Mexico isn't going any where and he replies "Viva Zapata!" Egads. Any way. Satellite is working great - have TV and Internet. Here is Jennie with the dish and Alfie sitting there wondering what happened! ( We took the dish off the Alfa and Put it on the Jamboree.)
Image
As we were getting ready to leave Sunday a.m. we could hear gunshots all over from the woods, deer hunting began the day before. Then I saw this across the street. He was just watching us - at least he was safe there.
Image
This time Bill hooked the car up in the driveway .. usually we hook up once we are out of the hills. Held my breath all the way out. A shot of Gypsy on dashboard trying to figure out where she was.
Image
Not much to take pictures of so far this trip. But did get a shot of the great pickup. Noticed him as he went by. Just beautiful - all black with everything that could possibly be choromed added to it. Check out the "balls" hanging below the back bumper. Think it is owned by an Alfa male.
Image
The only problem so far - our microwave quit working so stopped at a Wal*Mart and bought a new one. Bill replaced it already. It is not in in a pretty way but it will do until we get home and he can do it right. Couldn't live months without one.
Image
Well today we'll head into TX - other than that no plans. There are some 1000Trails campgrounds there so might stop in one.
Everyone take care.

Well maybe you can slow down once you get past the rain.

I've seen those balls hanging from other big pickups and always wondered, "Why?" Are they advertising something or wishing?  ;)

Have a great trip. I'm enjoying the sun in SoCal so much right now.

Thanks for checking in, Carol. Looks like you are on a roll. That's allot of miles for 2 days!
Nice looking microwave. Must be nice to have a man that can just go buy one, install it, and then keep going down the road. Not sure how I'd tackle that situation alone. ;)
Like everyone else, I'm looking forward to your new adventure! Praying traveling mercies for you both.

Spew alert!

Have a great trip- and I'll answer Jance's question for you. They wanted something smaller and not as high for MX where the Alfa had more difficulties.

Carol, I have known 2 people who have had troubles using microwaves not built for rv's - from Walmart. One kept blowing fuses, even though the Walmart one was supposedly LESS wattage than the one they had originally. I forget the other one's problems. Just be careful Even the ones built for above a stove are not built to be enclosed, even when vented. (I know, Bill can fix anything, so why I'm saying this to you, I'll never know!!!)

what route are you taking through Texas? Anywhere near Kerrville on I-10? Altho at the rate you're going you'll be in Mexico by the time you get this. Look forward to all your pictures.

See what happens when you follow Tioga George's adventures in MX.....they get into and out of some interesting villages.....that a larger class A couldn't navigate.....

Be sure to give us pictures! Alpha Male? I doubt it. Those that brag about it the most usually have the weakest hold on it and are likely to be the abusers that slap around their wives/girlfrinds/kids to compensate for their inadequacies.

Kelly calls those kind of trucks "Compensation Trucks".

Cause ya just know that they are compensating with that big over-sized spiffy thing cause they don't have anything else that's big, over-sized and spiffy! 8-)

And speaking of said above subject.......

There is one parked down the road. Huge tires, tons of chrome, shiny and lifted to beat al he77! If I stood next to it the rocker panels would probably be 36" off the ground. Has chrome pipe to step on to get into it.

Saw the driver of the truck today. He's short, bald and in his 40's. Only thing about him that was big was his gut.
