Farmers Market, Tucson AZ

Loved this place. Lots of people, musicians, stalls with all kinds of wares, dogs, food, fountains, free samples. Don't ask Beth about the Goat Cheese on a date.

The Farmers Market was in a Plaza. This stairway was all Mexcian tiles.

This dog was sharing lunch spoonful for spoonful. There were two venders selling doggie cookies. They were giving samples and had water bowls out for the dogs.

and finally a proud pair of Poodles.

Really was a great farmers market. We're even saying we should stay till next week to go back. Tucson has several on different days, but I don't think this one could be beat. We both bought vegies - would get all of them there every week if I lived here, I think.

But as to that date and goat cheese. The vendor was talking to me when I had to turn my back - almost was going to gag - was really looking for someplace to spit it out but I was a big girl and swallowed. Then looked for another vendor with food I knew I'd like. A really hot salsa finally took the taste out of my mouth. Some of you might like it - yuck yuck yuck.

That's funny Beth. They always make wine and cheese sound so good but it seldom is to me. I had to buy some goat cheese to try it and I can only describe it as "muttony". Yuck I gave it away.

Well the sign does say, "dog treats." Did Peaches and Bogie get to render their opinions?

Great pictures...looked like a beautiful and interesting day. Thanks.

I can see why you loved that market. Wish we had something like that here.

Goat cheese - maybe it was a bad sample. also not all are the same; might try it again somewhere else.

I've had goat cheese before - but this was combined with a date - and all I can say - it was terrible. I'm not a fan of dates, and now I don't know that I'll have goat cheese again, either. But I do know, I will never eat the combination again.

Here's where I went that finally got the taste out of my mouth:

Image

I sampled the "stupid hot" piled on a tortilla chip - and it worked. Yes, it was hot, and she says it gets hotter every day in the fridge. Almost bought some, but Sparkle and I bought another salsa the day before - and they don't last forever.

Looks like a fantastic farmer's market. And those stairs with the tiles...I love southwestern type stuff!

You're right! I knew he drank goat milk because he has me buy him some occasionally so I asked if he ate goat cheese and he said yes, he's ate it.
Nope, not me!

Love goat cheese. IMHO it was worth it for Beth to try it so Missy Picture Snappy
could capture the look on your face for the general amusement of the rest of us.
Priceless. I laughed so hard.

BTW, the pictures of the market are wonderful. If I went there, I'd be alone and
I'd be the only one snappy (in SO many ways   ).
