Herschel and Remi are both looking forward to sniffing around with their friend Maggie! They are also hoping that Maggie's Hooman....has a camera and is planning on posting about her adventures!..... :) Inquirering minds and other people still stuck at home want to know! :D If Maggie has any special adventures for immediately after the GTG, and thinks Herschel would like them...just send him and e-mail! Lori, what are the temps in and around Savannah in the middle of Jan?

Well, shoots. Was hoping to rearrange my schedule so I could camp out there for the week. But just found out that I have a "family" Bar Mitzvah to attend on the 8th and 9th; so back to figuring out another plan to at least spend 1 night instead of just for a day. Waiting to see what gets planned, before I know which day. I have asked another women that I know from another forum to come for at least a day, since she winters in Ocala. I'm hoping she at least peruses our forum to "get a feel" for what she might be getting into  carold

Here's how things are shaping up:

Those registered to be here on what dates:

Liz: Jan. 7-12
Diana (mtngal): Jan. 7-12
Kathleen (dayspring39): Jan. 7-12
Nan (gentleladybear) Jan. 7 -? How long are you staying, Nan?
Karen: Jan. 7-13
Mitch: dates?
Tina (birdby bird): Jan. 7-12
Carol (carolinagal): Jan. 7-12
Carolyn (sunshinecruiser): Jan. 9-11
Wanderer09: Jan. 8-10

Those planning to come for at least a day? What day is best to plan for that? Maybe Sunday? Looks like everyone will be here at least part of that day.

Carold

Sarah (bluepinecones)...We are not giving up on you! Hope you can make it.

Is anyone interested in any excursions? What day(s) are best to plan them?
Possible day trips:

1. Trip to Cross Creek, visit the Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings house, lunch either at the Yearling Restaurant or in historic town of Micanopy & browse through shops. (No reservations needed)

2. Travel to Dunnellon, Singing River Boat Cruise on the Rainbow & Withlacoochee Rivers, lunch at the Blue Gator. (Would need to make reservations)

3. Ocklawaha River Lock Trip with Capt. Vince: boat trip from Moss Bluff through the lock up or down 32', then check out the river for gators, eagles, monkeys, etc. Lunch at the "Dam Diner." (Would need to make reservations)

4. Crystal River Manatee Cruise: See manatees in the river and springs, lunch at Crackers Restaurant (Would need to make reservations)

So let me know if anyone is interested in any of these.

When I attended the ORS gtg at Soo's this summer I enjoyed looking at their banner which had traveled to several gtgs and had been signed and dated at each by the attendees. I thought that was pretty neat and we ought to have a banner too for our gtgs. Sooo....now we do. We'll all sign it in Jan. and then send it on to the next gtg...probably Texas.

Oh Liz, I love the banner, what a Great idea. I will be there 7-12th, sorry I didn't say before.

I'm also for any of the excursions the rest would like. Rawlins place is very interesting, but as you know I have been there, but another time sure wouldn't hurt.
The boat rides appeal too, very much, if the weather isn't freezing

You have some nice choices there, the singing guy, or did I understand one was through a lock? That sounds very interesting.
Fee might help some decide, or not.

I'm ready to go with the flow, as I will have other opportunities for any of the rest, we don't do. With family down there, I'm sure to be there often.

Looks like you have a really nice time planned for us all.
I sure like the banner and the idea of us having one too.
Thank you for all the work you've done on our behalf !!
