Prayers, thoughts please

Postby Bethers » Sun Nov 08, 2009 11:12 am

My good friend Karen battled cancer and won a few years ago. This past spring/early summer during a cancer check, they discovered it back in a big way and told her she had maybe a couple weeks. She battled, and even the doctors thought she was winning it. However, this past week, things took a turn for the worse and cancer won the battle. Karen died on my birthday evening. Now, my birthday will always be a day for me to celebrate both my birthday and the life and memories of such a good friend.

Karen had a big heart and would do anything for family or friends. She also had a daughter that was in trouble and not doing so well - and because of that Karen was raising one of her grandchildren. Please keep all of her family in your thoughts and prayers - as losing this woman is going to make it very difficult for all of them.

Karen, I love you - and I'll miss you - and I thank you for all the help and inspiration you've been to me.
Beth

loosing a friend is always difficult. Holding the positive memories does help over time.

I am sorry and will remember all in prayer.

I hope that her granddaughter will find a secure space and find happiness. Grandma's and mothers have so much to give and it is amazing how that sustains us throughout our lives.

Hugs to you Beth,... it's tough to lose a friend. Karen sounds like she was a great gal, and I sure hope the family pulls together for the good of that grandchild. Best wishes to you!

Beth, my thoughts and prayers are with you and Karen's family... Never the right words to express the feelings we all share.. but you know that here there is lots of support.. I know how difficult it is...losing someone that means so much..but the thought that all her suffering is over and now in the hands of our Almighty.

Keep the faith, Beth...

God Bless

So sorry to hear about your friend, Beth. (((hugs))) to you and Karen's family. Have gone thru this a few times, and know how difficult it is, especially after you thought she had won that battle. It's wonderful that you have so many good memories to look back on. carold

Hugs to you, Beth--so tough to lose a good friend on one's birthday. But your memories of her will always be kept alive each year you celebrate another year of your life. Each time a soul mate is lost leaves a little hole in one's life fabric, and repairing it is not easy. But you will do it.
