I had a mini gtg with Beth and Sparkle this weekend, had dinner last night,
so glad to see they eat light just like me. It was very good.
Got my own pic of Beth

and couldn't pass up the opportunity of posting Sparkle in her normal pose.....

That woman is so fast with her hand, sure glad I'm not the object of the backside
of it.

but guess what.......got you anyway Sparkle

We went to a Pow Wow this afternoon, if was fabulous! Lots of colorful costumes
and I sure did enjoy that music. We were in time for the Grand Entrance, all the
contestants danced into the arena and filled it up. It was dedicated to the youth
of today. I'll post a few pics when I get them uploaded on Photobucket.
Oh, and we had Indian Tacos, they were good, but I was stuffed after eating half
of it.

It was GREAT to meet Ava - and yes, I have a pic with the 3 of us - will get it uploaded (or email it to each of them and let them upload :) ) - soon, I promise.

Ava was so gracious. Well, last night she came to us - but I cooked - as she said, light meal. Today, we were coming nearer to her to meet for the powwow - and on the way, Sparkle had a flat tire. So, needless to say, we were a couple hours late (yes, we called). But timing was good, because as Ava said, what we wanted to see was about an hour after we got there. Oh, the clothes are so beautiful. And love the dancing, especially the kids - who really got into it.

It's great that the three of you could gtg! And a powwow is such a fun day. I've been to a couple and love the dancing and the food. And the absolute graciousness of all the participants.

couple of pics from the Pow Wow
the color gaurd, we were sitting to their backside, they were facing the
judges station. The flags were of course the US, AZ, the local indian flag
which was the Salt River Pima Reservation and some other indian flags
I didn't recognize. Also had the black pow flag.

as the field filled up with dancers....

I had a couple more pictures but I'm actually having problems with Internet
Explorer and it keeps bumping off so I didn't get the other ones uploaded
to Photobucket, but perhaps Beth got a few good shots, she has a great
camera!

Sounds like quite a few of us in Arizona right now. I'm in Tucson until Monday morning, then heading up I-10 through Phoenix on the way to Blythe, CA for the winter. Would be so much fun if some of us could get together somewhere.

As usual, with any size GTG, the forum sisters have a great time. Thanks for posting the pics. With all the time we've spent in the SW, youda think we would have been near a powwow. Were there any flamingo outfits  carold

What a neat GTG! I love all the pics, too. It is so wonderful to know that there are 'friends' out there in the camping world who can join up and share things along the road of life. Knowing this makes me feel much less alone, and I am looking forward to the time when I can get out there myself.

Thanks for sharing, you all! (I love Beth's colorful dress----as colorful as any of the dancers' garbs!)

Happy travels!
