One Of My Two Remaining Best Friends

Postby mitch5252 » Wed Nov 04, 2009 6:44 pm

..

I have a very, very good friend whose name is Judy. Judy has a phenomenal sense of humor and has two children, girl 13 and boy 10. Her son, Tim, has inherited his mother's sense of humor, with a dash of his dad's slightly off-beat/kinky sense of humor.

Some of you might remember a post I made a little while ago about my friend's 14 year-old niece being the first H1N1 death in DuPage County, IL. That was Judy's niece, whose name was Michelle Fahle (FAY-lee).

I have always been known to Judy's children as (previously) "Michelle That I Work With", and more recently, "Michelle From Tennessee".

Judy and I had a phone chat a week or so ago while she was driving home from work, and at the end of the conversation, I told her to tell the kids "Hi".

When Judy got home - 'how was your day', 'how was band practice', yadda yadda yadda..."Oh, Michelle said to tell you guys HI.". Timmy looked at his mother like she had truly lost her mind, and said, "Mom, she's dead."

I am now known as "Michelle With A Pulse".

Sometimes you have to laugh to keep from crying.

That's SO funny !!!
Like you said, you gotta laugh :D
Your friend did a great thing by "giving" her children a good sense of humor - it'll get you through allot of crap.
Thanks for the laugh.

Oh Lordy, to funny Mitch....or to sad. You're right, you had to laugh to keep from crying! Or it could be "Mitch with a knife" !!!!

And yes Vickie, you are 100% right...it's a VERY good thing!

And it just goes to show you must have a good sense of humor to be friends with Mitch.

It is funny, with a tear in your eye at the same time.
I had a friend who was looking for a new pet. An Iguana was suggested, but she said she wanted a pet with a pulse.

I have found laughter to be one of the greatest salves for grief, and can turn it
from bitter to bittersweet.

BTW, a pulse is my first and constant aspiration.
