Yes, they ARE. But there is great satisfaction in finally getting my rig running and looking the way I
want. A couple of years ago I went to an FMCA roundup, and RV dealers brought their rigs in for
us all to look at. I realized that the fit and finish of the cabinetry in my rig is SO much nicer
than in the spankin' new motor homes. My problems were merely cosmetic (read: an offensive-
color carpet). The MH only has 30K miles on it at this point, so it will transport and please me for
years to come!
It is, however, STILL at the shop. We're still waiting for the manufacturer (good luck!) to make a new
brake for the big slide, Clay is re-doing the bathroom vanity laminate (the previous owner spilled
something that ATE THROUGH the old stuff).
AND I asked him to do something relatively simple that will lower my #&%@!$ rate considerably ...
specifically to cut a hole between the two overhead forward compartments that hold my TV/DVD
components. I've had to leave the doors open and string DVD wiring (including the power cord) to the
other side. I'd get a smaller DVD player that would fit in the wiring bay, except that I now have jammed
in there the traditional switcher, an RF modulator (so my DVD player can talk to my analog TV) and
the DTV converter. No room at the inn. LOL.
I did look Clay straight in the eye and said, "AND It has to be done by JANUARY" ... so I can come meet my
Women's RV Forum sisters in Quartzite. Actually, there is no reason I can't take the rig as is. I just noticed
in the Q GTG thread that we can start making reservations now ... so I'll call Doloras today. Can't wait to see
you all with skin on.
