Yes. I don't feel talked down to. But then, with the roof re-seal, new wood laminate floor, windshield replacement
and body work ... I'm a VERY good customer at this point. :o

I broke down and had him winterize the rig (sniff! sniff! sniff!) as well. I'll thaw it out for the
Quartzite GTG.

I had something like that once and it turned out to be a defect in a tire but it took 3 places to find it.

I brought my motorhome in for service one time and told them that the brakes didn't feel right and ask them to check the brakes. Supposedly they drove it and told me they couldn't find anything. I picked it up and drove 20 miles and when I had to brake hard one time the brakes locked up on 3 wheels. Then it had to be towed back to the shop. I was not a happy camper!

I find that some places are getting better about listening to women. 20 years ago if I went to look at RV's I might as well have been invisible because that's the way they treated me.

Waiting to hear what caused/causes it. My ford chassis only had a shake when I was accelerating and my tire blew. Hope to never have that happen again. But I'm glad this guy is taking you seriously and is going to find and fix the problem. Glad also to see that his prices are better than others. Thanks for the heads up - will remember if ever in that area.

Okay! I don't completely understand the explanation, but it turns out the problem
was the tires themselves. They are cheap tires, and the front tires were out of round and
creating all the vibration. So have some new Toyos on the front, and 'thou I haven't driven
it, Clay says the rig drives beautifully now and the front-end vibration that was rattling the
front TV is GONE.

That's great news! Is there anything you can do to get a refund, either partial or whole, on the defective tires?

Probably not, two years later. But I could call Les Schwab. I used one of the "discarded" tires for my spare (the one that was there was probably VERY old).

Janice, that's great news!
Glad it was an easy fix and not something a lot more pricey!

Yes, they ARE. But there is great satisfaction in finally getting my rig running and looking the way I
want. A couple of years ago I went to an FMCA roundup, and RV dealers brought their rigs in for
us all to look at. I realized that the fit and finish of the cabinetry in my rig is SO much nicer
than in the spankin' new motor homes. My problems were merely cosmetic (read: an offensive-
color carpet). The MH only has 30K miles on it at this point, so it will transport and please me for
years to come!

It is, however, STILL at the shop. We're still waiting for the manufacturer (good luck!) to make a new
brake for the big slide, Clay is re-doing the bathroom vanity laminate (the previous owner spilled
something that ATE THROUGH the old stuff).

AND I asked him to do something relatively simple that will lower my #&%@!$ rate considerably ...
specifically to cut a hole between the two overhead forward compartments that hold my TV/DVD
components. I've had to leave the doors open and string DVD wiring (including the power cord) to the
other side. I'd get a smaller DVD player that would fit in the wiring bay, except that I now have jammed
in there the traditional switcher, an RF modulator (so my DVD player can talk to my analog TV) and
the DTV converter. No room at the inn. LOL.

I did look Clay straight in the eye and said, "AND It has to be done by JANUARY" ... so I can come meet my
Women's RV Forum sisters in Quartzite. Actually, there is no reason I can't take the rig as is. I just noticed
in the Q GTG thread that we can start making reservations now ... so I'll call Doloras today. Can't wait to see
you all with skin on.

Janice, that has to be quite the relief to find the problem!! I'm glad!
Sharon has convinced me that I need to take Little Missy to a place that specializes in "alignments". Now to find one! Most are at "tire" shops and I've also learned that it's not exactly the same thing. ;) (she had to thump me on the head a few times for that to sink in!)
Here's to many years of happy, safe miles and smiles !
