Looking forward to the snow pics of the canyon. Sounds like there ought to be a TX coast gtg this winter?

It's kinda pretty, though.

Can't you have your Alien friend beam you some interplanetary warmth?

..

The problem is the Alien must come from a cold planet. She stays here all winter. Even though they can get 22ft of snow.

Hey GIRLS!

Not to hang crepe, but...

was told by an old timer the other day, that this winter acomin' looks like a DOOZIE, compared to previous ones in the recent past. So... hang on to your long johns and get south as soon as you can.. and if you are stuck up north, as cedar and soos, and anyone else I can't remember names to mention,, YOU GIRLS lay up a huge stock of wood and blankets! My heart goes out to the animals that don't have a nice warm barn to get into.

Love ya'll...

I've heard the same thing about the weather this winter. It's one of the main reasons I'm leaving SE Kansas this weekend and heading to Southern California.

Chris, did I miss one of your posts or is your job time there over already?
Anyway, yep, get out of Dodge (er Kansas), while you can!

No, you didn't miss a thing since I just made the decision last night and haven't posted anything about it.

I've stuck out the hard, heavy, dirty work at Amazon for two complete months and my body is telling me "enough is enough." The money is great, but not worth the wear and tear on my back and knees. So, I'm leaving here Sunday morning and meandering west to Blythe, CA for several months.

I'm returning to Parry Lodge in Kanab, Utah April through October to host the western movies in their old barn five nights a week and do a little gardening. I'm really looking forward to working for them again and meeting up with old friends there from two years ago.

On this trip back to California, I'm going to finally visit Carlsbad Caverns since I've now got my Golden Age Pass. If anyone is near that part of NM, it would be so much fun to meet and do the caverns together. I'm going to spend several days with friends in Tucson and go to a mountain dulcimer workshop in Tucson on Saturday, Nov. 7. Means I need to practice a little between now and then. Nice to now have time.

Brr...winter in fall....just like us. Our blizzard started Tuesay evening and stopped Thursday! We have over 2 feet of snow on the level and 4+ feet drifts.

But that's life in the panhandle of Nebraska!

WOW! Now THAT'S a good October blizzard!

Wish we could see some pics, but I imagine you are too busy shoveling and sweeping and digging out!

Last October we had a Nor'easter that dumped two feet of snow on us October 13th, but this year we are above normal for temps in October.....and no snow on the ground any more.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Love the photos. Snow is beautiful but I tend to like it only for very short period or great distance such as your pixs.
The only major handicap in life is a bad attitude!
