C..C...Cold at Kaibab

I think it's 11 degrees right now. The deal is if we get about 2 feet of snow they will plow the road ONCE. Everybody has to leave and the Lodge shuts down. However it's supposed to ease up on Friday. We plan to leave on Monday.
This is the Lodge, side view and my rig.

OMG, and I'm grousing about 60 degrees and overcast!
It's kinda pretty, though.

Can't you have your Alien friend beam you some interplanetary warmth?

Cold, but beautiful all the same. Thanks for the pictures. Know you'll be glad to head for warmer climes.

And I thought I was cold at 24' and a cold wind. Drive safely as you leave there. The pictures are great...love the icicles hanging from the roof.

brrrrrrrr
quick, get out before you get snowed in, wouldn't want to see the second
generation movies of "The Shining Kaibab" with white tailed squirrels runnin
amuck  It was actually cold down here today too, I think we were getting
a blast from that cold front up your way cause I had to wear my coat this afternoon.
I just kicked my furnace on just to make sure I wasn't going to have problems
with it, its working fine and I turned it back off and its set for 70 just incase in
gets really cold at night. Mornings have been fine just to use my little electric
one but one of these days its going to get really cold. Although they predict it
to be back up in the 80's next week. Yea, I'll be soaking up some sunshine :D

It is beautiful - makes me miss Moxie - my dog who loved the snow so much that I couldn't help but enjoy it. That said, Peaches is getting to like it more every day - but I keep telling her to not get used to it - that we're going to the BEACH. SOON. lol

I pulled in my slide today - helps keep some of the cold out. Sparkle and I were talking that if we won the lottery - we'd get new rigs that would have better insulation and were winterized. But I'd still avoid most winter :) Oh, and to win the lottery, I'd have to play, wouldn't I? But my rig was not made to have icicles on it! I really was looking forward to a couple days like this before we left tho. I miss winter - but do not miss driving in it, shoveling snow, etc - just think it's the most beautiful of all the seasons. Clean, white, pure ....

How gorgeous. Eleven degrees makes you feel alive, doesn't it? I hope your trailer's systems don't freeze. My rig has a cold-weather package, but I worry about the water compartment where the water pump is.

BRRRRRR!!!!

Not to even think about the frozen pipes at my place. Boy was Kelly ticked off this morn at not being able to take a shower! All this time we had thought that the furnace in the trailer didn't work as when we got here they had one of those plug in radiator heaters going. LOL Joke was on us this morn at about 5:05am. I woke up early cause my toes were like icicles, got my sweats on and with coffee in hand took Shade out to do her morning business. At about 10 after what a squalling clatter!!! couldn't figure out what I was hearing. Walked around the trailer and it was coming from our place? Went inside and there was Kelly sitting up asking what the he77 the racket was? Dang furnace had actually kicked on and was blowing warm air!!! Holy crap!! Shocked the heck out of us!  If it hadn't been so freaking noisy I would have left it running. Would try it tonight but we're going to town. Kelly is clamoring to get her hair cut and the girl she likes isn't working tomorrow. So away we go. We are going to make a night of it and spend it in a motel over there. I really don't want to face the 2 1/2hr drive home tonight cause I don't know if the snow is done yet. Better to wait until tomorrow and then we can drive home in the daylight! Oh boy we will have TV tonight and lots of internet!!! WooHooooooo!!

Hope everyone is staying warm and safe!!

Love to all

Time for you to wake Bogie and hit the road or get ready for a long winter. Best of luck.

Looks pretty cold there. Be careful driving in that stuff. I think we're looking forward to some of the same soon here in Coffeyville, Kansas before leaving in December.

Wish we could leave the cold north but give us a few weeks and we will
