Temperate Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Temperate Tuesday

Postby Liz » Tue Oct 27, 2009 7:45 am

Good morning ladies!

It's overcast here and signs of rain from overnight. Weather says 55% chance of rain today. Have my reservations in for camping Friday night at a State Park in St. Augustine on the beach. Got the last available space. Saturday, I'll take Roe to visit a friend with a dog-friendly beach across from her apt. building. Weather prediction is good for Sat.

Breakfast was an omelet made with "Eggstirs", some fresh chopped spinach, broccoli slaw & low-fat cheddar inside. Got my veggies & protein servings. I'll leave some muffins & fresh fruit for you. Come on in, the coffee's hot!

Thanks for the good grub, Liz.....people are lurking but not coming in to share the good stuff :) I am hoping that the sun will find its way out here in Ohio like yesterday.....I am still running errands and catching up on this and that from running away to TN and beyond... The pole barn/pottery studio is underway in the back yard....and the dogs take great delight in letting the workers know that they are "protect" dog....WOOF, WOOF, WOOF....... My view of the back woods is slowly disappearing...sigh.....but I smile b/c I know that I can find all sorts of fine views outside the Baby Bus' windows  Hope everyone has the sort of day that they need....busy.... quiet....just the right balance......

Greetings -- again -- from soon-to-be warm So. CA!

I tried posting at home, but apparently I wasn't logged in (even though it said I was). Didn't want to sit and do it again right then, so here I am in my classroom at 6:35 greeting you all!

It's going to be a beautiful day here -- mid-70s, after 90-degree temps yesterday. Love those 70s!

Day two of parent conference week begins with a 7:20 meeting. Then I have 5 more after school. Tomorrow the kids don't come so we can try and pack as many into that day as possible. I've got 16. While I love meeting the parents, it's a lot of talking for someone who isn't accustomed to talking non-stop for so long. Lots that needs to be said in only 20 minutes!

Hope everyone's day is good. Enjoy the Fall, wherever you are!

Morning from rainy MD. Taking GD to the doctors today. She's been running a low grade fever since Saturday and enough is enough. I was hopeful that she would be able to go to school today because she had no fever at dinner time last night. Made her get a shower even. This morning it is there again so I called and got her in. Not sure what is going on because she really doesn't have anything but mild cold symptoms. But, I want to make sure it isn't something more serious and I can't send her to school with a fever anyway.

Pups and cat are all not happy about the wet outside. They really don't like to go out in the rain. Can't say as I blame them, but don't they realize that they are animals? LOL Guess not!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day, with just the right mix like Tina said!

Any body else having trouble posting? I've been having trouble posting on another thread...keep getting an error message. So, this is a test.

Never mind...I figured it out. I had composed in WORD, and included a smiley from WORD...the forum didn't recognize the smiley.

It is a dark morning with a bit of drizzle, temps are not bad though so heading out with Charley for a little walk before breakfast #2, I eat breakfast in three courses. Not much on for today my afternoon client (Reiki/hypnosis) canceled so I should catch up on all those little projects I've been postponing like sending the property tax payment. :(

I'm on my 4th caffeine free day so I'm telling my friends if I start acting strange to administer the real thing! I did a gradual withdrawal and so far no headache! I find I do get sleepy in the afternoon. Actually the taste of the organic de-caff espresso isn't bad.

Hope everyone has a happy day.

Paulette, speaking as a teacher right, thanks for keeping your GD home. We're getting hammered with cold or flu-like symptoms here and are sending kids home in droves. The district mandate (and maybe even state) is to keep kids home for 24 hours after they're fever-free without the help of aspirin. You'd be amazed at the number of kids we send home with temps over 100, only to have them show up the next day. Needless to say, they get sent home again. Even had a kid show up for his parent conference yesterday afternoon and he still had a temp. Mom now knows that he'd better not show up in class today or he'll be going home.

Good to check out what's going on with your GD. And trust me, I'm sure her teacher will thank you also for erring on the side of caution right now.

So THERE'S LAURA!!!

Now we know what both you and Jed look like! Thanks for the pic---now I can erase my 'mind pic' I have had of you as I read your posts!

School is long and people are getting sent home today, as I type. Nobody in my class seems to have any ills, so I still feel lucky. The nephew of our other TA had to be chauffered home with a high temp.

Thanks for the late breakfast for me, Liz

Happy Tuesday to everybody.

Morning, thanks for setting the table, Liz. This morning I'm having my steel cut oats but with a banana instead of the sliced almonds and dried cranberries.(I'm such a rebel! :o  ) Tasted good for a change-up.
In about 45 mins I'll leave for bowling. Love bowling and always look forward to it but we are down a couple teams. The economy had hit hard for the ladies who need to watch their spending. One lady is having to sell her home because her husband is out of work. He's a finisher for new homes and we all know new homes are not going up like they were 5 yrs ago.
After bowling I have a dentist appt for my cleaning. I get that done every 6 mons.
Tomorrow I get Little Missy winterized. They also check the roof for any cracks and will reseal anything that needs it, even around the windows.
Thursday I get my hair cut. It sure needs it so Iook forward to that.
Ok, I'm rambling. Paulette, hope your GD is ok. Keep us up to date on her. Ali, traveling mercies as you drive over the passes today. They are telling people, that use Goverment Pass, to chain up. I believe that using route 26? I think you said you were doing 84 across. I don't know the elevations on that route but the snow levels are at 2500 ft.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!!

Yay it's still morning all the way to the right coast and I made it!!!

Had pancakes and eggs this morn for breakfast. Have no idea why the heck I have been wanting pancakes so much??? I hope I get off that kick soon.

Felt kinda warm here this morn at 5:30am when I stumbled outside with Shade and my coffee in hand. At least warmer than it was last night! Had clear skies last night and they are cloudy this morn. Radio is talking snow! Maybe up to 6" worth today with no idea on what it's gonna do tomorrow? Someone said that they had heard on the radio that we could be looking at up to 36"!!! :o A few of the people up here are freaking out at the idea of that much snow when people are suppose to be all done Nov 1st and pulling out. I have really got to dig out my insulated hiking boots! They are all I have for that kind of weather. My ankles will probably get snow crusted but at least my toes will be warm!! ;)

Suppose I should get busy and punched in on the clock. Sinks are set up ready to wash dishes and I only have a few shelves left to clean and I will be done with that just in time.

Hope everyone has a great day, stay safe and warm/cool.

Love to all

Temperate my @$$.  We're having our first snowstorm of the season here in beautiful downtown Utah.
'Tho snowstorm might be a bit of an exaggeration. The TV weatherfolks have been pumping us up over this storm
and it may just fizzle out. We'll see.

I'm feeling warmer already thinking about the Quartzite GTG.

Thanks for the concern for GD. We went to the drs and it is just a cold. The fever she had this morning was gone when we got there (always happens that way), but there is no strep, no pneumonia, no sinus infection. I'm so relieved! And doc said if fever stays gone she can go back to school tomorrow. Yahoo!

good news on your GD, Paulette.

I'm here in school and for those that are here I can hear coughing all over the building. I was at my dr's yesterday for my seasonal flu shot, (H1N1 shots aren't available yet) and he said my cough is just my asthma kicking up. I think we've got 60+ out in a student body of 270+. Not as bad as some schools in the county north of us.

Stay well, everyone!

Goodness Barbz, be careful there. Sliding and having a fall are not things you should be doing.
