My Bandit

Postby avalen » Sun Oct 18, 2009 12:39 pm

Bandit is so much on my mind lately as he is not doing well at all. This
morning he started sneezing blood. He's very congested and I put him
back on his antibiotics, his aminophylin, and his prednisone. I'm just
not ready to let him go :( but hopefully the medicine will keep him
just a little more comfortable.
Here's a pic that was taken right after I moved into my fifthwheel. He's
such a bed hog.

Ava, I hope his meds help. It's kinda like a baby, they can't tell us what's wrong or what hurts.

I am sending warm wishes that the meds help too.
I learned with my lab that nose bleeds are fairly rare with dogs. In Annie's case it turned out to be an early sign of a liver problem. If you have not already, need to ask you vet about that.
Nicky sends a wet lick for your fur baby as well.

Its soooo hard when we know our furbabies aren't well. I think its one of the hardest things we have to do in life, let go. I've always said that when I go over the rainbow bridge I'll be met by a herd and I will welcome each and every one. Just hope I have a REALLY big bed in heaven. Hugs and pats and kisses to your little guy from me and my guys.

Awww ... I have an elderly Bandit dog too. Sending "healthy" vibes to him and hope
you get many more "bonus years" with him.

thank you all, I'm trying really hard to be "grown up" about this whole thing,
and he's been sick for several years so this is nothing new to him and I, well,
except the blood in his sneeze, thats new. I have you ladies to lean on and
help me and support me when the time comes. Truthfully, I'm afraid to take
him to the vet again cause I know the outcome and the outcome is not good.

Dear Ava,

I, too know how difficult it is to know that your beloved baby is not well, and possibly near the end. My heart goes out to you and praying you will stay strong and know that God only LENDS them to us,, like He does kids,, and that He will send another for you to love when you're ready,, Until that time,, hugs, kisses and lots of love go to your dear one and hoping that he is comfortable for as long as possible.

Stay strong my friend,,, for we are close in spirit and send hugs thru the airwaves!

:)

Molly and I both send hugs and licks to both you and Bandit. I know what it's like to be looking at a loss of a 4-footer.....breaks your heart. But, there are so many 4-footers out there desperately seeking a human soul to take them in and love them----have to keep that in mind, always. We are hoping that Bandit will be comfortable until his last breath, which is all we can wish for us all.

((((Hugs)))))) and puppy nuzzles..... keep him comfortable for as long as you can and may you have the heart and strength to provide the care and comfort that he will need....... It is one of the toughest things that we do.....that letting go...... they give so much and trust so much......more than we can ever give back..... And the world around you will go on as if nothing has changed...... but those that have shared love and life with an animal will know..... Prayers for peace... yours and his.....

So sorry to hear Bandit isn't well
It's the hardest thing ever to let one of our fur babies go. Have a nice quiet talk with Bandit and look into his eyes, he'll let you know when he's ready to go.
