My pretty site and a visitor

Thought you might like to see my site here at Guadalupe and where I walk the dogs in the mornings. Also, yesterday Nancy (Birdie) came out to visit and look at a rig for sale here in Kerrville. I'm always up to looking at rigs - fun-fun-fun. We had lunch (Mexican) and looked around our new Tuesday Morning store. She's probably going to bring her rig up and stay a couple of days.

Its been so HUMID here that I'm ready to go back to dry New Mexico. I do so much better in cold weather than hot. Why dear God, did my daughter end up in Texas? What are you punishing me for?

There's a big empty field right behind the RV park where you can walk the dogs and go down to the river. You can walk quite a ways along the river and even let them go in the water (if you're willing to deal with damp dogs the rest of the day). Its really pretty. We have a resident Blue Heron (which I haven't seen yet) and several white Egrets (which I have seen) and some ducks which Sassy would love to chase if allowed.

My pretty site - those little trees are Crape Myrtle. The grass is exceptionally green cause we've had so much rain.

That is a pretty RV site! The dogs look exhausted with the heat, though. Poor things. Will the humidity drop with winter coming or does it stay humid all year round?

Karen - Thanks for sharing pix of your RV site - it looks really nice. I especially love Crepe Myrtles. I planted one 10 years ago alongside my house but it has never even had one flower. Guess it doesn't like the central coast area of CA BUT they love it a little farther south. When they are happy with their environment, they give such gorgeous color.

The pups look like they love all the walking space.

Yes, Karen, I know what you mean about Texas . I've wished for years that my ancestors woulda settled in colorado, or new mexico instead of Texas. At least west tx woulda been better than central., for the humidity factor. YOu just came back ONE month too early. I know when i came back from Co. the first time, I came for an anniversary party in oct and it was warm and humid, but then I came back for the winter in Nov.. and was much more tolerable.

TO answer Ava's question,, the humidity is present most all the time down here except in a drought season,, but is, as I stated above, more tolerable when it's cooler. And.. the moisture in the air in winter makes for more uncomfy cold weather as the dampness goes thru your clothes and so you feel it more than out west.
Having grown up in texas and then moving to Montana, then Colorado,, I MUCH prefer those winters to winters down here,, but at least here we don't have the snow or freezing temps nearly so intense. In fact,, rarely does it come a hard freeze,, or ice storm down where Karen is,, as where I live , which is about 75 miles or so further northwest,so it freezes more and the winters are a bit more harsh and cold. Now Dallas, where I grew up... they have horrific winters (as far as tx goes) lots of ice storms and stuff like that., without the fun of snow, like in colorado.

That is really really pretty Karen look at it this way you could be back in what town was that in WY??? Are you there for the winter or just a short time...we humans tend to adjust though....and while you are adjusting enjoy the site

That is truly a beautiful site, K! It looks like an advertisement for some rich, posh place to camp! And what a bonus to have the lake path for the pups and you to walk!
