Portable Electric Heaters

I know that we've touched a bit on this subject scattered throughout other threads, but I wanted to contain it here.
For those that use an electric supplement heater in their rigs, I'd like to hear what brand/type you use and how you like it. thanks!

we do when we are plugged in....it's a lasko no idea and not overly impressed with it seems like it has to be blowing right on you to feel it

Heat Stream 1000....here..don't know the manufactor...have had it for about 4 years....has those little wire thingys in it with auto shut off if tipped with a thermostat for heat control....we don't care for the ceramic heaters as they don't seem to put out the heat like this one...

I have one of those oil filled radiator ones from Walmart. Silent and a nice heat. At first you don't think it will heat enough, but it is surprising how nice it gets in the rig. Oh, and for those with enough room...those fireplaces made by the Amish, I'm sure you've seen the ads, are wonderful. They look great and put out heat.

Same here,... Love my oil filled radiator. Especially the steady head and the QUIET!

I have the ceramic heater with thermostat. Again storage is a problem for me so this little tower rides between the livingroom chair and the passenger seat. The Maverick is 26' and the ceramic heater works. I always forget to shut the vents in the cab to keep out the cold or heat. I think I will start visiting consignment shops for insulated curtains and make a divider to close off the cab. Huuummmm another winter project.

I've had the oil filled type also and absolutely loved it, had it for a good 15 years until
it finally gave up the ghost late spring. Had to dig out my Holmes twin ceramic with
oscillating action. I can only use it on single though as using the twin feature trips
the circuit breaker. Also, like others have said, I have to blow it directly on my feet
to keep me warm. My oil filled radiator type heated the whole place very nicely and
I do plan on replacing it as soon as I find a good bargain on it. It hasn't really gotten
cold enough to fire up the furnace and use the propane but I know thats coming. For
now the little ceramic does fine for just taking the chill off in the morning.

I use a small electric heater I bought at Walmart with a tipover switch. The idiots who built my rig put two heat vents in the bedroom area and only one in the front. Who wants all the heat at night when you're in bed?

I have a little ceramic heater - it did a great job of heating small spaces. I liked it because I seldom had to pay for electricity so I could run it for "free"
I don't know the brand but I got it at WalMart - it was in a box and was 2 for one. Great deal and a nice little heater. If it was on the floor I put it on the deal that covered the sink so it wasn't sitting directly on the carpet. I'd be scared to use a oil filled heater ! I was very concerned about fire when I was in my RV and an oil filled heater seems spooky to me.
Oh - my electric heater had a thermostat and a tip over feature (if it tipped it'd turn off)

I had no idea there were oil heaters for inside. Don't they need to be exhausted to the outside?
I have only heard of the ceramic ones and had no idea how well they worked.

I've got a little ceramic heater in the MH and it does a great job of taking the chill off. I'm with you Trudy, I would be freaked out with anything with oil in it running inside the coach!!

These are not oil burning heaters. The radiator style heater is filled with some sort of oil-like substance which becomes warm. Think steam radiator,... it has steam going through it. Looks similar. Small, compact.

The Delongi is a bit bigger than I expected and at 30 lbs, I think it would be cumbersome to pack/store.

Thanks for the ideas and the link. I have the Honeywell HZ2200 and I DON'T recommend it.
Does not keep my rig warm enough.
