Fantastic floor, and beautiful job laying it down! Thanks for the pics. I really, really want to get some of that stuff for my living room, which has never had any flooring, other than the sub-flooring it had when we bought the place. I guess I should measure, and plan, and make it happen! Do you have to put down something underneath the lock flooring over the subflooring?

That came out beautiful! I too want to get rid of the carpet areas in my B van. I'd also like to get rid of it in the cab area. Roe sits/sleeps between the seats, and all it does is collect hair. But that floor is not level, so not sure what would work there. Maybe vinyl? I'm going to check out the Allure vinyl stuff Carol and Bill used in Jenny that looks like wood.

Soos, when they installed the wood laminate floor in my house, they put a heavy black plastic (water barrier?) layer underneath. The sub floor is concrete.

What a stunning floor! Wish I could have that done! I'm not sure about the slide, tho. If the flooring was lower I'd worry it would leave a space - a gap. Or, because the carpet completely covers the slide under the sofa, etc., I'd worry it would scrape on the new floor! Aghhhhh. I sure do love how your's looks, tho.

The floor being lower should not be an issue ... the gasket around your slide should (?) keep the breeze out. Does your slide move on runners that rest on your carpet? Do you see wheel marks when you open the slide? These floors come in 1/2-inch and 3/8-inch thicknesses. I went for the 3/8ths, largely because it does not weigh as much. AND the flooring I wanted was in that thickness. BTW, most of these laminates you can "key" and they won't scratch. They're like iron.

And Soos, there is a thin waterproof foam-like membrane they put underneath the floor before installation.

And Liz, there is a reason I did not run the flooring all the way into the the cab area. In my rig, the doghouse and floor get REALLY hot when going up grades in warm/hot weather. I wanted as much insulation as I could get under my feet.

It looks great! I'm assuming you don't have dog/dogs? Bogie would do the splits. Did you do it? I know when I planned on doing a Pergo floor in the house I asked a guy who had done one for advice. His advice? Pay someone to do it.

Sparkle, I had professional installers did it. I'd get halfway through pulling up the carpet and
I'd probably sit down and cry. Saves on Kleenex this way.

And I do have two dogs ... they live on solid floors at home -- hardwood and vinyl. When
we're moving I'll just move the throw rugs to the kitchen / dining area, and put the next-to-
the-bed rugs next to the couch with the slide in.

And Ruffles ... I think I'll have to make a slipcover ... my couch has the skinniest arms I've
ever seen and it's a shorter length than most couches.
