Not the best of days

Postby WickedLady » Mon Oct 12, 2009 3:54 pm

Last night my friend's daughter notified me that Mari had died. She was only 54 years old. Mari had been fighting ovarian cancer for 5 years but it finally overwhelmed her body. I am feeling sorry for myself because I will miss her very much but now she has no more pain; no more drugs to cover the pain; no more tubes invading her body and her dignity.
She was one of those without health insurance.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your good friend, but like you said, she is better now, no more pain. Sometimes I think we keep people here more for us than for them, but someone higher than all of us makes that final decision and they alone know what's best and why.

I'm so sorry that you lost your friend. I hope you had the chance to say goodbye and
tell her how much she enriched your life. I know you'll miss her, and goshdarnit, I hope
her family isn't saddled with medical bills.

Aw, I'm so sorry for your loss. It was the loss of my best friend several years ago that caused me to buy an rv, quit my job, and start traveling. Too many die way too young - she also died of cancer - but had only a matter of a few weeks from diagnosis to death. I hope in the 5 years your friend had, that you were able to tell each other how much you meant to each other - and have some quality time together.

((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))) to you. And you'll be feeling the pain for quite awhile. But as you said, she is finally free of the pain she's been suffering with.

I'm so sorry for your loss Marda, I know you'll miss her but find comfort knowing
she is no longer in pain and burdened with tubes and such.

I'm typing this through tears. I feel your loss; mine was just 9 months ago, she was just 52.
When does it get better?
I'm sorry I can't say anything comforting because I have not yet been able to comfort myself.
I'm sorry for you. Truly sorry for your pain.

Hugs flying on Angel's Wings to you Marda, and to Mari's daughter. Way way to young to die. They can put a man on the moon, a camera on Mars but they still can't come up with a way to diagnose ovarian cancer before it's to late. Something wrong with this picture and where our money is going, since the powers that be knew before spending billions of dollars to send said camera to Mars that it was totally inhabitable. Ok, off my soapbox.

Big hugs to you, Marda. I am so sorry for your loss. It really hurts to lose a good friend, and the only way to live with that loss and adapt to it is by remembering all the good times you shared.

Thank heavens for her release from pain, but I feel yours will hurt for a long time. I do know you have been visiting with her lately, and that's a good thing-----you two must have made your peace with each other and said whatever goodbyes needed to be said. Hug your 4-footer tonight----they are such good comforters.

Marda, don't think anyone can have too many hugs ((((((( ))))))))). Everyone deals with their loss so differently. Eventually, the good memories seem to win out even with the pain of loss. Will be thinking of you. carold

I'm so sorry about the loss of your friend. Cancer is a terrible disease and too many have died too young. I've said a prayer for your comfort and for your friend's family.
