I read your story and I am happy that Jed got what seems to be excellent care and had such a great owner to know what to do. My prayers are with you both.

I am glad that the vet was able to help him.

I would send those pictures to the Insurance Company. That is so pathetic. I can't wait for his full recovery.

Jed will be home tomorrow. :)

I saw him today and he's up and walking. Not real steady yet, and that's why we're going to give it one more day. I went to Home Depot & bought some rubber-backed carpet runners for my hardwood floors. They're down now and ready for his return. It'll be good to have him home. This house is much too quiet without him.

There's a big claim-related issue that I'm waiting on. Don't want to say too much publicly, but if you all would pray for a positive report I sure would appreciate it. When it's settled I'll let you know everything ...

Thanks so much for all of your support. We both really appreciate it.

OMG Laura - I'm in shock that this happened - and they best cover the vet bills and more. Geez. I'm so glad to hear that Jed is improving - and I can just imagine how you were feeling - I think that manager might have been calling the police on me if it had been my dog. OMG - I'm late in reading all about this - but my thoughts and prayers are going Jed's way for a complete recovery.

Hugs to you both!

Jed's home. :)

I can't say how good it feels to have him here. He's able to navigate around the house, but I'm helping keep his steadiness going up and down the stairs for now by using a towel under his belly.

He acts like the lights are on but nobody's there right now -- a side effect of the phenobarbital. Hopefully as his body adjusts to it he'll come back to me. And hopefully he won't have to be on it forever -- all depends on a definitive diagnosis, and we're still waiting on UC Davis for that. We'll have them either Friday or Monday at the latest.

Please keep praying for positive test results, friends. The alternatives are more than I want to think about right now ...

Thanks so much for your support.

Just now read all the posts about poor Jed. Am so glad that the clinic was close by and you got him there in time. I've always loved his photos and reading about him. Hopefully he will continue to improve with each day.

I'm late reading about Jed too, but glad to know there's a positive ending. I'll be praying for Jed's full recovery and for a successful outcome to your insurance claim.. What a horror story!
