Goin' Back to New Mexico

Got to my home park today after a 7 1/2 hr drive. You gotta love Texas. Stayed last night in Van Horn (Bargirl joined me there). Ft Stockton too close to stay so onward. Usually stay at Exit 394 (great rest stop with wifi). Got there about 2pm. Got out of the RV and YIKES - its hotter than He** and HUMID. Decided to drive another two hours all the way home to Kerrville for AC. Now I know where I'm going but had my GPS on to play my music. First it tells me to take exit 488. WHAT? That would take me the back way down a very winding two lane road. It recalculated then told me to take the next exit which is also a two lane winding road. Recalculated and told me to take exit 501. SAME PROBLEM!!! Finally it recalculated and told me to take exit 505 which is the right one. My old cheaper Street Pilot was more accurate than this more expensive Nuvi 660. It never did figure out that the Deming RV park was on the RIGHT side of the street not down the little road it kept telling me to take. BUT it plays my music real well. Anyway I'm glad to be home (I think). Wonder when it will finally cool off here. Tomorrow I have to unhook and drive the rig to get its safety sticker. Does So Dakota require a damn annual safety inspection? TIME FOR A GLASS OF WINE.

Those GPS's are designed to drive you nuts. No, no inspection sticker in SD. Glad you got home safely. It'll cook off in a couple of months. :P
