We drove again to The Strip Monday and parked at the Paris. Walked through there – again it was pretty busy – guess there is money for gambling. While in Vegas we didn’t give a cent to any machine or hotel. It’s weird to walk through the casinos now – no clank, clank of coins coming out of the machines. No coins are used at all any more. Only tickets or bills. Ha – not mine. Used to be when we walked through the casinos I would almost always play any coins I had in my wallet. Of course always lost them but it was never too much. Now they get nothing from me.
We just looked in the windows and walked over to Ballys so we could take the walk over Las Vegas Blvd to the Bellagio. I love to see what they do in their conservatory for each season. Was not disappointed – it is all decorated for autumn – just beautiful. Just walking through the hotel to get there was an experience. Some of the big glass leaves hanging from the ceiling in the shopping area.
And the floors with all the mosaic flower baskets.
A big scarecrow welcomes you in.
There is a covered bridge
A city on a lake with a water feature
A couple of trees with faces – this one talks
This one is just neat
These trees have water pumped to their tops and it constantly flows down around them.
And flowers (real ones) everywhere
After checking out everything there we went to the chocolate shop to drool over all the goodies. Just one of their trays.
Then we walked back across the street along the Bellagio’s lake side. From there a great view of Paris
And just as we passed the dancing water show began so we stopped to watch.
Then back to the car – this is a view of the LV copy of the Arch of Triumph that is right where you wait for your car to be delivered.
Last year when we were here I took a lot of pictures of the new City Center buildings. They started building them just after we moved from Vegas in March of 07 – all of the buildings are expected to be open for business by December of this year.
Here are some pictures of just some of the buildings. It is changing the face of the Strip. And they just started hiring people to work there. The only problem is when the construction is finished 8000 construction workers will be finished. Its worth going to the web site to see it. http://www.citycenter.com/
Just thought I’d throw these in – I think they are pretty – these bushes with the orange flowers are planted all over the place.
These will be my last pictures from Vegas as we are on the road now. Enjoy
